Hey all.

Im trying to find a list of all the royal private label brands out there.

I know of Stark, Liberty, electro-hygene, and jason, but what else were there?

Thank you Ben! You are a true genius!

A local furniture store that is now going out of buisness asked me if I was interested in a 1950s commercial vacuum.

It was a hild brand.

Had a T shaped handle. The base was about 2 feet by 2 feet square and heavy solid metal. The motor sat in one corner. A tall metal coffee can design.

The brush roll was hollow, and open all around except where the 10 or so brushes ran across it.

The bag came out of the top in the rear right corner and kind of hung to the side of the vacuum.

The vacuum looked very old, and very dangerous in size. I literally could stick my entire arm through the brush roll! It ran quite well. Was a little rackety.

Never seen any vacuum like it. Wonder who made it for Hild.

the vacuum described sounds like a pile lifter vacuum cleaner that carpet cleaning services use-they usually have very large drum shaped brsuhrolls-typically driven by a seaparate motor-and a suction motor. The brushroll on a pile lifter goes all the way to the bottom of the carpets pile-to the backing. They lift and fluff the pile as well as picking up dirt left on the backing.the machine is used before and after carpet cleaning-after it has dried-to fluff the pile and get remaining dirt the carpet cleaning process loosened up.I have been looking for one these beaurties for my collection. They are large and heavy-and sort of look like a lawnmore.and almost used like one.You vacuum the carpet in one direction-then go over it again the opposite direction.

A Few More Royal Brands

Electro-Grand
Good Housekeeper
Macy
Royalaire

Electro-Grand was identical to Electro-Hygiene and like Galaxie Prestige, was part of the Electro-Hygiene organization.

Good Housekeeper was an older private label, not sure who sold them, but I have only seen them as uprights, not sure if they made a tank or cannister with this badge.

Macy was made for Macy's Department stores. Probably was made both in tanks and uprights, but I have only seen the tank.

Not sure if Royalaire was available as an upright, I have only seen tanks and cannisters, and have two tanks.
