Wessel Werk HEB160 Power Brush

Now that I have a Wessel Werk HEB160 PN, I can't believe the bristles have worn down to little "nubs" of bristles!

Has any HEB160 owners had this problem?

I've been using them a lot since I have two of them; bought both nearly a year ago. The upside is, they're a great mini PN; & more superior & powerful than a turbo brush.

It's the #1 above-floor tool I wouldn't want to be without. I wish I could use it with my TriStar EXL; it's more comfortable than the MiniStar. Is there an adaptor to use the MEB160 with the A101/EXL/MG & CS Series TriStar?

Did I mention it's quieter than the MiniStar? Yup, the HEB160 is so quiet, U can hear a pin drop when vacing with the HEB160.[this post was last edited: 2/5/2013-23:47]

Is it really that good? I've been thinking of getting one for my compact so I can do the stairs. How does it work with pet hair?

The Wessel Werk MEB160 (HEB160) does great job removing pet hair, FAR better than any turbo brush you'll ever find. This brush is powered by an ELECTRIC motor, which provides continuous power without slowing down; unlike turbo brushes that are loud, noisy & slow down as the vacuum bag fills with dirt. Turbo brushes not only spin slower, but they are powered by the vacuum cleaner's suction, which doesn't deep clean carpet or upholstery as good as an electric PN can.

As to the HEB160 fitting a Compact, it will work if there's a PN receptacle on your Compact. Or U can get an extension cord (plugs from PN cord to wall outlet) from a central vacuum dealer.[this post was last edited: 2/6/2013-01:40]

<span style="font-family: verdana,geneva;">It still picked up OK, but not as good as it did when new. I'm ordering a new brush roller for the HEB160 I use for vacing the car. The other one I use for mattresses & couch still works like new. Maybe the cars' carpet is too rough for this brush? I vacuum the car interior more often since I got this tool; it even picked up the dirt the straight suction upholstery tool & turbo brush wouldn't get.  The Wessel Werk HEB160 doesn't "bog down" like a RainbowMate, SideKick or MiniStar as easily because the HEB160 has edge cleaning vents & the MiniStar is 100% sealed & no edge cleaning..</span>

I have the Wessel Werk HEB160 but I find that the electrical prongs are too short to work with my new black Rainbow. I have to hold the plug into the connection on the hose handle in order to have it make electrical contact. I already had the Wessel Werk prior to getting the Rainbow so that is why I did not purchase the Rainbowmate.

I have to wonder if you should try to spray something onto the new brushroll to make the bristles a bit stiffer. My thinking being that if the long bristles were stiffer, perhaps they would not wear down as quickly. Also, I would contact Wessell Werk & let them know this issue you are having, they may not be aware of this problem.

How long have you been using the HEB160 in the car? Could the wear down be due to the frequency you have been using the tool and the downward pressure you are putting on it against the cars carpet/seats etc? I know when I vacuum my car I am pretty aggressive in there to get things up/out. Way more thank I am in the house.

Either way I would contact them and let them know about the wear down. They may even send you a new brush roll or have a different stiffness version in the works that nobody knows about.

I had the HEB160 for a year, & I didn't put downward pressure; the brush works great without extra pressure. I think the culprit may be the carpet inside my car? The carpet inside the trunk is rough.

Brush roller comparison between HEB160 vs. MiniStar

It seems like the TriStar CXL with the Wessel Werk HEB160 outperforms the TriStar EXL with MiniStar, since it seems like the HEB160's brush roller RPMs is higher than the MiniStar's brush roller RPMs (brushing-wise; even though the MiniStar has stiffer bristles & the HEB160 has softer bristles)

Does the MiniStar's brush stiffness have anything to do with the "bogging down" effect? Or does the MiniStar have a less powerful motor than the MEB160?

If there was an adaptor to use the HEB160 (aka MEB160) on a TriStar EXL, A101, MG & CS Series or Electrolux Epic 6500SR; but I don't know if there is an adaptor available.

The MiniStar's motor is "underpowered" due to its 0.55 amp motor; other mini PNs (Kenmore PowerMate Jr, RainbowMate & Lux SideKick) have 1.2 amp motors.

The Wessel Werk HEB160's motor is 0.2 amps; yet it seems to be more efficient cleaning than the TriStar MiniStar has ever been I. M. O.</span>
