Great thread resurrection!

Very cool to read this one and even better to know the site is still alive and well and active.
Thanks to all whom started it up, maintained it, and contributed to it.
Hope it keeps on chugging along and does not go the way of dtvintagefans; I miss that site...

Hey!

Wow! Thanks for resurrecting this post. I was on the site today digging up some pictures of a couple of KitchenAid dishwashers (https://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?82083_0~1) and saw this post at the top and thought something was seriously wrong with the site since this was the first post (post number 1!!!.) Almost 14 years and over 420,000 posts later, a serious credit to the site, the creator (thanks Robert!!) the moderators and the participants of this site. For those of you familiar with the history of Vacuum Cleaner aficionado web sites you will know that all of them went down in a ball of flames.

Our objective back then was to create a safe website environment for fellow vacuum collectors that could be used to share our mutual appreciation of vintage vacuums without the flaming that inevitably occurred. Seems we accomplished our objectives. Not without some scars which I still have. But here we are 14 years later and still going.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. The archives of the site contain some great memories and some great discussions. Continue to use and explore it. It is rich with great information and discussions.

Fred Nelson (Webmaster number 1 and former VCCC Newsletter Editor (and former board member.)

PS - BTW that storage unit has some great vacuums and parts that need to go to good homes as well.
