[Wanted] Hoover WindTunnel 3 Bin Latch

I am looking for the bin latch for my Hoover Windtunnel 3 High Performance Pet. I know it's removable because mine is missing it, but I cannot find it for sale anywhere as a separate piece. I do not want to eat it and have to buy an entire new bin for $25/$30 just for that one piece, so if someone already has or can find just the latch I would be grateful!

Unless someone has a donor unit, this may be tricky to locate. It is part of an assembly and can not be ordered separately.

Did you buy this new? If so, might you have the receipt?

If this is a UH72630 (or the like) it should have a 5 year warranty ... it is not uncommon to replace damaged components as long as the unit does not appear misused ... could be worth a call to Hoover, if so (though that item appears to be backordered currently)


If you are not covered by warranty for any reason, hopefully a donor will show up.

It's new but it's not new. I bought it as a store return salvage for like $30 in 2017. I think someone just bought the vacuum, stole the latch, then returned it as defective and frauded Hoover. The vacuum has never been used and the accessories were still packaged, only the latch was missing. Brand new vacuum though that just came out in 2016.

I am not sure if it has ever been registered, manual is missing. I don't know if I could do that without an original big box store receipt or any proof of purchase. For such a silly part, it's crippled the entire vacuum though.

The vacuum is the UH72630 model.

I don't have my workbench anywhere near cleaned off though and I've got a plate full or projects right now, so when the time comes I'll deal with it, but thought I would post this in the meantime in case someone out there can find a latch.
