WANTED: Hemmertone Teal Electrolux Model XXX Hose Cleaners & Brushes, & Companion

I am interested in purchasing these 1953 Electrolux Model XXX tools and the Companion that are factory-painted in hammertone teal:


1) Dusting Brush

2) Upholstery Cleaner

3) Companion


In addition, I am interested in buying an original Model XXX hose that is in fair to good condition--that could be used effectively after furbishing with Plasti-Dip and 2 narrow space cleaners: one black and one blue-gray.

From what I've researched these are the main colors & styles used during the last several production years of the Model XXX (with the understanding that there were variations--likely due to using up old stock):


• circa 1951: classic gray snakeskin-textured leatherette, gray-painted bottom, chrome-plated steel front cover and end cap, plain aluminum with gray bumpers: rug cleaner, floor brush (w/chrome brush plate), dusting brush, upholstery cleaner, black fiber narrow space cleaner, hammertone gray-painted steel Companion

• circa 1952: classic gray leatherette, teal-painted bottom, chrome-plated steel front cover and end cap, plain aluminum with blue-gray bumpers: rug cleaner, floor brush (w/teal brush plate); blue-gray bakelite dusting brush and upholstery cleaner, blue-gray fiber narrow space cleaner, hammertone gray-painted steel Companion

The model XXX was made in 1955 as well. It ran with the model LXI. To my knowledge, no dusting brush or upholstery tool were ever painted blue at the factory. There were plastic upholstery tools and dusting brushes, testing the material they would use on E and AE machines.

hammertone blue painted rear. I have the receipt for this machine, dated August 17, 1955. Vacuum and a package of wrappers, cord winder, and companion were $103.73 including tax. The vacuum was $70 and the cord winder was $20. That's a lot of money for a cord winder.

Thanks for the info. and photos, Tom. I've seen the hammertone teal-painted dusting brush but not the upholstery cleaner, so given their rarity they might have been been done by DIYers.

I do have the blue-gray plastic (which I called bakelite) dusting brush and upholstery cleaner, so guess it's the original set.

Regarding the manufacture of the Model XXXs, Charles and others say 1954, so I wonder if the paperwork you have is a situation like the sale of the Model S in 1960 as you'd mentioned in another thread--that a salesperson had some from the prior year that hadn't sold yet. Anyway, I'm confused after recently reading another thread in which several stated that the Model E was introduced in 1954; or were there three cleaners sold in 1955: the models XXX, LXI, and E?
