My vacuum cleaner wands are from a older model forget what it was, ive kept good parts but they get stuck together!!Darn ..
2 metal tube how to prevent vacuum cleaner extension form getting stuck .Kenmore i think i use em on my Compact or electrolux canister but cannot separate the two wands .Now its one long tube brush or hose comes off fine but the wand make one lonnnng tube. Now i have to force and turn to get em in 2 separate tube any tip i thought sanding it down ???They are old and a bit of rust inside must be preventing the 2 metal tube from separating.

I had the same problem with the one I got from mom. It turns out all the dust and hair and gunk was built up between the two tubes where they slide into each other. I twisted and pried till they came apart and cleaned out as much of the gunk as possible and they come apart way easier. I'd take them somewhere you can make a mess and try spraying some wd40 or whatever you have and let it work in then try again. Once you get them apart clean the crap out of the tubes. I don't think those tubes usually ever get taken apart as I think they either had another set of pipes for the regular floor head or just swapped the heads around as needed. I seem to remember all we had for ours was the powerhead and the bare floor head and maybe a extra set of pipes for the floor head. We didn't have any small furniture soft brushes or any of the things most other vacuums had like my Royal cabisters have.

i got em apart now after turning tugging ect and a few choice words later voila! but il sand the inside and use a bit of wb40 to prevent further issues thanks i have 4 wands in all

I'd recommend disconnecting all the pieces whenever you intend to not use the machine for any longish period of time. That'll stop them rusting together.

This could be an indication that they are either being used to vacuum up small amounts of water most likely be accident, or that they are being stored in an overly humid environment.

If there's any chance that what one is vacuuming, such as in front of a door, has any water in it such as from wet shoes, it certainly should not be vacuumed until thoroughly dry.

Also, storing a vacuum in a humid garage, attic, or basement will cause rust on any vulnerable surface as well as encouraging mold growth.

Now that they ends are apart, I'd recommend washing taking a damp sponge and applying a lot of baking soda and scrubbing the ends thoroughly, rinse with hot water, let dry, then applying wax(like an automobile wax) to help seal the surface.
