im getting my hands on a vortech force canister whit a bad latch any one have a lead ?
its the green and brown model whit 2 hose id need a latch or help fixing it when it arrive il post pics thanks

Be sure and post pictures of the vacuum when you get it all cleaned up. I will google the vacuum to see what you are looking for.

I had the green and brown model. I think you'll like it well. I was a little off-put the first time I saw one, they are about twice the size of a Compact. I do love the power nozzle. It reminds me, in a way, of the Haley's Comet. Hope you get it.
 
Ya, Tom is totally right on this one. They are much bigger & heavier than a TriStar CXL or Compact. The shocking part though is how heavy the canister itself is - and it's plastic! They do incorporate some nice features that I wish TriStar would put on their machines though, like a cord rewinder & pleated pre-motor filter. For now though, at this time I think the original TriStar design was the best & for that reason I wouldn't buy the Vortech Force.

i dont have pics to post but i am using my desktop. I hate my desktop.
The vortech from research i have done is related to the patriot vacuum.
The Schoettler Research and Engineering Corp out of Huntington beach California make the patriot vacuum. Schoettler worked for compact/interstate then tristar up until 1987-1989 where he believed he would have sent out to the pasture. He opened up the company above using the compact technology to produce patriot vacuums. He may have sold vacuums in Canada under compact name. He either sold or either himself sold or under same compact patent sale vacuums in Europe. there is one near me listed for 200 and i got them down to 120. It is made in Europe. I may be off on some points but the vortech has roots from the person who started patriot vacuum and selling vortech in Europe.
I looked into it but its one in the same animal.
Bottom line its what compact would make and sale if compact kept Schoettler on and produced compact technology.

with that in mind, does anyone have the manual for the main unit and the older style (non-Wessel Werk) PN, they would like to share?
 
I also own the new Vortech Force, the XR3000. It's an awesome machine, much lighter than the original model, but still has all the great features like the cord winder and the pleated HEPA pre-motor filter. Now they use HEPA closed-top disposable bags as well. I love the variable speed motor and the EBK power nozzle.

Tom - Nice Vortech Force XR3000. But I don't think it's worth the money now.

Ghibli downgraded the Vortech to use a single stage motor. And what's their excuse for using the EBK340 instead of the EBK360 powerhead? The EBK360's brushroll works better on most carpets, adds height adjustment and the large rear wheels work better on shag and ultra plush carpeting. Plus I think it's a joke to put a plastic cage with foam on the rear exhaust - why wouldn't they put pleated HEPA Filter paper in that instead?! Better to do that than the HEPA Pre Motor Filter, there's no need for one if they are using HEPA Cloth bags now. Plus the cord welded electric hoses are stiff and a pain to use - not suitable on a DTD machine selling for nearly $3,000!

I actually didn't know how much they sold for at retail. I bought mine from eBay (came from Canada) for $150 with postage, so I thought it was a good deal. I totally agree about the foam block at the exhaust, like the square-bodied Kenmore canisters had. I agree a Hepa exhaust filter should have been used, but I can't complain about the filtration of the unit as a whole. I don't care for electric hoses with the electric cord glued in a conduit on the inside of the hose, but this one seems to work OK. I tend to use the straight suction hose more, and the power nozzle just at the end of my cleaning for the rugs. All in all, I like it. BUT I wouldn't pay more than a retail price for it. I don't see anything about it that would justify a really high price.
 
Tom, sounds like you got a good deal on Ebay when you bought your Vortech Force XR3000. I wouldn't pay over $500 for that model, there are too many other premium and DTD machines with better features and better cleaning performance/filtration on the used market. Example - a used Patriot on Ebay would be a much better deal than this Vortech Force.

As for the cord welded hoses, or the "electric cord glued in a conduit on the inside of the hose" style hoses as you put it, I will give credit, some have gotten considerably better with time. The Miele C3 hoses, since 2019 for example, are much more flexible than the S8 hoses were. And my Shark Professional EP754 electric hose is nice and LONG, has a comfortable handle, and it even has a suction relief valve! The same hose was also put on the red Fuller Brush canister that Tacony put out as well.

As for the exhaust filter, if you have the plastic cage, I would take the foam out and cut a square piece of HEPA Cloth from a bag, and use that in it's place to improve the exhaust filtration. Also, just so you know, the Ghibli T1 / Whirbel W1 bags are exactly the same as the Vortech Force XR3000 bags, and they can also be used in the Miracle Mate canisters too.
