this ones for chris aka Turbo500 because he asked me to start a thread about my vintage sebo's so here it is :) i've put a link on that goes straight to my videos on youtube so you can see them in action

First up in my Sebo 350, this was the original Sebo vacuum originally from 1978. It was the first commercial vacuum to have an onboard hose attached and a clutch controlled brushroll. They were originally sold through commercial cleaning equipment suppliers such as Jeyes Hygiene, Initial and Lorito. Sebo was first introduced in 1979 under the Windsor name. The 350 was the model that earned Sebo it's reputation for reliability and user friendliness.

next up, the 360 Electronic, this one came in 1986 and was the first to feature the brush control display. This is a lovely vacuum and still in production virtually unchanged as the BS36/Windsormatic models. Again, nicely built, superbly reliable and great performance.

The whole family, the orange Ensign 350 and X4 clear belong to my mate richie. I've since got nice new hoses for the 350 and 360

i've actually never seen a 370 in this country, I think they are available but most companies seem to go for the BS36 model instead

ryry , sorry , I do have a 370 but its grey , I meant the 460 the wider version of the 360. I also have a 460 badged as a sebo but in the Windsor blue colours of the US

Why change what works

They really have not changed much over the years but if there is no need to why bother they hold up to commercial use extremely well i know at the school i had a summer position at the versamatics held up much better than the Flexamatics.
It's kind of strange to see them in orange and brown i've only ever seen blue in person, you have a nice lil' collection of em Ryan

Ryan, I really like your collection of Sebo's!! Thanks for sharing with us. I have used the Windsor Versamatic blue version in the past & thought it was a fine vac. I enjoy seeing all the versions you have collected.

Thanks for your kind comments guys, I agree, why change something that works! the current commercial models are almost identical to those 20+ years ago. It always amazes me though how much the colour schemes change between different countries , I think in US they're pretty much always blue? whereas in the UK we've had everything from orange, brown, red, cream, blue and grey. Usually depending on what company supplies them

My early X1 Automatic arrived today :D it's in pretty good condition, hasn't been used for years though, was full of cobwebs

What do you use to clean your machines?

I really like that clear sebo. If you ever feel like lifting it when your friends back is turned and posting it to someone. Let me know! Haha

haha I'll bear that in mind after i've finished playing with it, I usually use Flash surface cleaner to get the worst off, then i'll use Cif cream cleaner to get any really ingrained marks out then I detail them with a good silicon polish.

UM thats not a sebo , thats a IVAC , wow never realised sebo would badge a ivac as there own product I knew iwas badged as a wetrok and oreck as well as many other names including there in house brand fast. they are made in the Netherlands

Well there you go - as I say I had it many many years ago - just goes to show what you learn every day! Ty for clarifying that, gsheen. It was one of the first machines I collected, rescued from a hotel that went bust and the owner gave me tons of commercial grade kitchen ware as well!
