Looking at your posts, I am quite amused by the fact that we as vacuum cleaner collectors also treasure the fine art or appreciation of antique furniture.
Your collection of Victorian style and hand carved furniture as seen in the postings, are truly amazing. You have excellent taste and put the items together with great detail in an era of precision, hence not just art deco with Victorian and make it look like a fruit salad.
Adrian, at the same time, I can walk into a room full of beautiful, priceless antiques and art, but if there's a vacuum cleaner in there that will be the first (and possibly only) think I'll notice and pay any attention to!
I appreciate that compliment, VERY much. Some of those pics were taken amidst renovations, thus. the mess. Things are getting better. Of course, a HOOVER adds a nice decorative touch in any room. Things are a little better here now.
Today I finally get my oldest Hoover 652 completely restored.
The guy who did all this work had to use some part from an other vacuum.
Now, this one works like a brand new machine.
The power of suction is unbelievable. Some days I'll find the complet carpet inside the bag....
The restoration work by the guy is really good.
I gave to him another work to do... to restore an old Hoover 612.
He is slow to restore but the result is perfect.
I saw an old blue Hoover 638 for a cheap price. I do not know yet if I want it or not. I prefer my 652 models.
John, if I had the funds I would buy them and send them to you myself!! Heck, if I had the funds I'd come over WITH the cleaners to visit. But alas, just now I do not.
The British Senior ranger is not too difficult to find in Europe but shipping to US could be very expensive
I've never seen one in good condition.
I saw a Hoover 638 for sale (30€) but I do not know if it works well
I also saw a nice Hoover 612 but too expensive for me... 80€
