Am I losing my mind?

About a year or so ago, I thought that I came across on-line web pages, that dealt with the history of the Hoover vacuum cleaner, right from the start; i.e. Model O, then Model 2, etc. There were illustrations, video of the 1919 brushroll beating action, user manuals, and so on.

Now, for the life of me, I cannot find them. Have the pages been deleted?

Yes, I think so, but some pages don't seem to be there any more. I could have sworn that there were pages listing every machine, right from the original model.

Yes, it was my site...

...and no, those pages aren't publicly-available anymore. The site is a continual work in progress - pages are added, updated and removed periodically. The site software allows me to monitor which pages are the most popular, as well as the amount of time people are spending reading each article, what links they're clicking, what terms they're searching for, etc etc etc. Some of the less popular pages of the past have been deleted to make way for new stuff, and information has been re-organised to make it easier to find.

However, if there's any information on the early Hoovers you're looking for, I can do my best to supply it here. The user manual covers have now been moved to their own gallery pages, so the vacuum cleaner pages can load more quickly:

Would it not be better to reinstate these missing pages, to give a complete history of the Hoover cleaner?

There is scant information about the earliest models, as it is, and at least your site gave some credible information that seems not to be available anywhere else.

I rather liked it.

That is a wonderful link and very interesting!! What a wonderful collection of Hoover machines! I remember the Dial-a-Matic well, my Grandma had that machine, it worked very well.

rolls_rapide - it comes down to a question of space; I have a finite number of pages and data storage to use, and I'd rather focus on the cleaners I actually own than those I don't. Also, my online projects at the moment include that website, a blog, and a YouTube channel - keeping them all updated takes a lot of my spare time. I would like to spend some proper time re-working The V.H.E, and updating all the information and photos (some of which were taken several years ago, and the machines have been properly restored since then!), but I have no idea when I'll get the momentum up to do so!

cardsvacfan1 - thank you, I'm really pleased you found it interesting! The website focusses on the period in Hoover's history which fascinates me the most, but I do have quite a few Hoover cleaners from later eras - right up to their latest 2010 models!
