Hi all, not sure what to make of Hoover, they seem to be coming out with some new and unusual contraptions.

Just taken delivery of this at work, the Hoover Synthesis. It's a cylinder with PACT, there's an auger and a expanding bin which compacts the dust. The silver handle on the bin is a motor which drives the auger.

Very very unusual, this must be Hoover designed, I haven't seen anything like it. Although its Hoover, the build quality isn't as bad as some of its offerings, the filters and bin seem to fit well.

Wouldn't mind trying one if Hoover could send one.
Any opinions?

I've seen this. Supposedly compacts 10L of dust into 1L. There's a HooverEurope video on it:

Saw it at Costco the other day and it seems quite well built. Was about £199 with the VAT though.

^ lol the music...

EPIC.

My initial worry was dust build-up on the extendable portion of the bin (and it remaining sealed properly). However Hoover is claiming the bin is anti-bacterial? I wonder how they manage that. Hope it's a winner for you guys over there!

Infact looking at the tools that Hoover have released with their TeliosPlus on other country sites in Europe, it seems the separate carpet & hard floor tools appear to have been replaced. At last they've seen sense and returned to a standard combi floor tool with a separate parquet brush tool that has been available for many years.

TeliosPlus seemingly gets AA for both hard floor and carpet EU labelling with these "new" floor tools.

I bought a TeliosPlus from Lidl a few weeks ago and it came with the combi nozzle, similar to the one in the picture above. I think it was a European model as it was black and didn't have the same writing as the UK model.

You're not the first. My neighbour's son bought a Hoover TeliosPlus which also came with a combi nozzle. Still had the fake Hoover H-Lab patent labels on it even though its clearly a Chinese rip off Wessel Werk floor head.

Clearly Hoover have a lot of different suppliers coming in with new stock not meeting UK spec that brands are supposed to be checking up on. Also old stock is being sold as new at independent shops. I dont think Hoover are alone though; a lot of brands in the UK seemingly lose control of the machines that enter the UK. Not helped by Amazon with its global approach - great for UK consumers but not so great if they are not informed about it.

Mine had the H lab logos on it and said it was an 'all floors specialist' but after a few uses the lint pickers both wore off!

That must be the case with a lot of brands now. The TeliosPlus model was only at Lidl and it was on Amazon for about £100 I think.
