Very Nice "First Edition" Electrolux LX on eBay

Here's a really nice Electrolux on eBay. It has the original hose, albelt a bit faded. But what makes it special is that it was never retrofitted with the bag ejection adjustment. Look at the photos of the underside -- no dial!

Unaltered LXs like this are kinda hard to find, because once the Electrolux engineers came up with the dial they would retrofit it onto customers' machines at no charge. Then when the E-Automatic came out, the upgrade was no longer done for free; rather, they encouraged customers to buy the newer model.

I wonder if there's a "Basement and Attic Key" tucked away inside the cord-plug compartment! Now THAT would REALLY be a find!!

The LX also has the original sensor tube going to the hose intake opening. Bet you dollars to donuts its stiff as a board and the ejector system doesn't work. My good friend and fellow vacuum collector bought a beautiful original LX on Ebay, but we had to go buy fish bubbler tubing to replace the stiff and ineffective sensor tube on his machine. Anyone who buys this machine, will probably have to buy some fish bubbler tube and make that repair.

Alex, I think you should get this LX. It's right up your alley -- it's in beautiful condition, is all original, even has the original Belden plug on the cord! You can tell the seller to put the cheap bojack plastic attachments where they belong -- in the dumpster!

Thanks for the sugestion Charles, but as I have the machine that started my interest my housemate would skin me if I bought this one. Once again I'm living with somebody who tollerates my interest in vacuum cleaners, and my collection, but by no means likes it.
