Anyone questioning value???
What an INCREDIBLE Convention!! This was clearly among the most memorable of all the Conventions I have attended, probably second only to Hoover/2008. From my arrival at the Hotel where Michael and I joined others for a 'pre-Convention' dinner close by, to the arranged Hoover/vacuum warehouse on Thursday to our incredible outings at three unique and memorable homes/collections, it was a non-stop marathon of enjoyment and camaraderie! There is no doubt that the "Vacuum Room" is always a major perk and major draw where people congregate, share, catch up, and can be voyeurs of a really wide variety of cleaners of all ages, makes, and styles. I cannot imagine any convention without that room/gathering place (all of which HAS value) though I suppose you could assemble in a partitioned portion of some company's warehouse. And while Hoover and Electrolux especially light me up, I enjoyed so much more. Tania shared one of the nicest Lewyt 55's I have seen since I was a kid looking in other peoples' closets (that would have been at least 20 years ago...!) The culmination of the Convention with the banquet (I thought I had died and gone to heaven with that chocolate mouse cake) and the awards + raffle (I was lucky enough to win an immaculate, late-model FQ) all contributed to the best $90.00 I have ever spent. (Special note: The VCCC Banquet is included but does not come with a Happy Meal toy.) I already have my sights set on Spokane and to that end, I will begin setting aside my $ 7.50 per month to reach that registration goal. Short of a motel room with that very special someone, I cannot think of a better value for the cost of admission that includes SO MUCH.
My sincere thanks to our planners, Barb, Chad, and Kenny and hosts Phillip/Shayley, Kenny, and Houston/Scott for an outstanding Convention! Kuddos!
