Help Support VacuumLand:

It will be good to see you John. Our club has some very faithful members who attend every VCCC Convention!

I sent out an email to all VCCC members reminding them to make their hotel reservations by May 23rd. Please click on the link below for more information. Hope to see everyone in Tulsa!

Kenny,
Thank you for all your hard work for this upcoming convention! I love Houston's adverts for our official club meeting! I'm looking forward to seeing Phillip's collection and his homestead...though I'll do my best to keep his chickens out of my Volvo, as it violates my warranty. A pool party sounds like fun, though I don't know if I'll let out my one piece swimsuit or just wear a very large sunhat. I'm looking forward to seeing old friends, young and old, and meeting new collectors.

I'll be driving, with Brett, from Santa Fe. While I have an official vacuum room in my new, 60 year old, home...I still have a few too many vacuums for my smaller living arrangements. I'll be bringing some gorgeous GE swivel tops, a bunch of Hoover hoses and wands, as well as attachments for a variety of machines. I'll be selling much paper, including shops manuals, supplier catalogs, retail catalogs, and manufacturer paper. Did I say paper?
I'm looking forward to being in Tulsa...words I don't say often.
Lets hear from some of the other attendees...

Sean,
I told Shaylee that if she let the chickens out that day I was going to tie her up and leave her in the storm celler lol The chickens will be put up. The famous Pugs however will meet and greet for a bit. Please make sure you rub Ivory's belly it's very important to her.

I'm so excited for this year.... Oh and ps. not only do the chickens void warranty, they also kill the trade in value but only on Volvos. I didn't get squat out of my Volvo

Trying

To see if I can get the days off. I want to go, but, it's a 16 hour drive from here in NC. The room is also quite expensive, I don't have a disposable income, sadly lol. So, I would need to room with someone or would need to figure something out. I don't want to miss out on another convention.

I'm getting excited but also saying whoa slow down I still have much to do.
I almost have the upright room finished or at least temporarily finished. I may just stop where its at now because I really need to get the vacuums out of storage and serviced. Please understand these rooms were thrown together quickly for the convention and may not be quite perfect. It was a huge undertaking building the upright and canister rooms. The canister room I still need to knock out one wall to open it up more, paint, carpet, finish risers, and get vacuums set up. I'm getting electric hooked up tonight so I can now work in there at night. woohoo.

Some of the local members here have offered to come by and help me get the vacuums serviced and with that help I may just be able to pull this off.

Get Here

John,
In the beautiful words of Oleta Adams..."just get here if you can". More that seeing the collections and playing with the vacuums, I'm most looking forward to reconnecting with fellow collectors and sharing laughter and good times. Despite our differences I have a found affection for the men and women, young and old, I've met through the VCCC. It's not by accident that I have become involved in this group and formed attachments and deep friendships.
Best wishes to all,
Sean Curry
P.S. If you truly want to be moved by a woman's voice go to YouTube and check out Oleta Adams. The depth and sincerity of her voice is awe inspiring.

So very disappointed.........

Looks like I am not going to make the convention this year.

Purely a matter of economics (or lack thereof!). Airfares from Lauderdale are prohibitive.

All the nonsense with Kevin has drained my finances (and it's still not over, as he continues to fight everything). He sued me for legal costs and won! Costing me thousands of dollars.

The trip to Buffalo in March when my Dad passed was quite costly.

AND..... there's the puppy.

Sadie came to live with us about 6 weeks ago. She is a blue nosed Pitt and the cutest thing you ever saw. She is the light of my life. You can't beat the unconditional love of a pup. But boarding her for the time I would be gone adds to the cost.

Know that I will miss you all so very much. I've made some terrific friends in the VCCC and was looking so forward to Tulsa. It really hurts to have to make these "adult" decisions.

Have a great time, think of me and enjoy the events!

Greg

Sean!!

It will be fantastic to reunite with you, too. WE ALWAYS have a great time. Yes, indeed, I've made life-long friends through this VCCC. I've also been able to see a lot of the U.S.through the VCCC.
Some of these friendships are very special to me. Some people, I only see once a year. Others, I see often. I've hosted many mini meets, and have had great times.
Some really enjoy coming back to my home, some even staying there. Some will never do that again. They've made fun of me (not good fun), at MY expense....doing things, mocking me, etc. They've eaten their last meal, spent their last night, and attended their last mini meet..To quote Miss Joan Crawford, "For reasons which are well known to them".
So, in a few short weeks, we'll all be together in TULSA, OKLAHOMA.
YAY!

Tulsa or bust...

I will be there, along with Marc Turbyfill. We will be driving from Rockford, Illinois to St. Louis on Wednesday; staying over at John Pease's home. We will head out early Thursday morning!

Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones!

Greg,
I'm so very sorry you won't be able to attend but use this time to relax and reflect on good vibes and try to forget about all the crap, it will eventually be over. Yes we will think of you and miss you.

Sean, I remember the first time I met you and thought holy cow who's this person, I could listen to him tell a story ALL DAY and then have my sides stitched up from side splitting laughter. I'm so glad to call you my friend and care for you very much.

John, same as above. I can listen to you ALL DAY too. Remember Mel Brooks and Carl Riener the 2000 year old man where the two of them would totally ad lib and entire dialog? You two could so do that and make $$millions.
Thank you all for being in my life. Lots of love to you all and I can't wait to see you.
