VCCC Convention 2018

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Major Kudos to our host in Spokane!

WOW! Another incredible Convention! So many thanks to our host, Marc, the Board, and numerous members who stepped up to provide such a fun, vibrant convention. It seems each succeeding VCCC Convention continues to approach or meet the rather high bar established in 2008, each in its own unique way. (note: 'high' not being referenced as in the much-lauded, glorified, 'self-host' vacuum socials) The thrill, camaraderie, and enjoyment never diminishes and in reality has clearly been on a noticeable upward trend for some years now.

While it's understood that some locations are more accessible than others, the Club's continuing effort to visit new, exciting areas, collections, and vacuum cleaner museums around the United States has allowed for increasingly greater numbers to be represented over time as "the Convention comes to a theater near you!" (the intent of a collaborative Board seeking new and exciting venues )

Special appreciation goes to original, founding member, John Lucia, for his continuing input, guidance, and humor in Spokane. John, you are such a gentleman!

Again, many, many thanks to Marc and the VCCC Board.

We had lots!!!

And I mean lots for sale this year! I shipped four boxes home. Probably the most I've ever seen at a convention. I'm working on posting pictures to the club's website.

We also had a very productive membership meeting. My plan is to scan most of the past newsletters (mid 90's through today) and provide them to our members on our site. So many valuable resources in those old newsletters! I'll be working with Dave Olsen's husband Pete to create a forum for our members on our site.

I had a wonderful time. It was great to see old friends and make some new ones. Marc sure has a lot of stuff. We helped him "lighten" it up a little. Thanks to everyone who made this convention such a great experience. Spokane is a beautiful city. I'll be back in the Fall to pick up some purchases from Marc and visit with him.

Thank you, Kenny. What a GREAT array, documenting so much of the Convention. Yes, as John L stated, "A GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!!!" I surely second that!

Wow Kenny is right! The machines are all beautiful! That Regina cansiter is very rare. I believe it may have been one of the original judgeing by the pinstipe hose. All of the hoses I have seen are solid. No pinstripes.

Is the hose still air tight?

Congratulations Kenny!
