VCCC Convention 2018

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Thanks, Kenny!

I know some have already "gotten ready". I'll be on that soon, too. As you know, LAST year's convention was exceptional, truly worth every cent. One question, for now: will there be anyone else needing to split/share a room? If so..
I'm sure Spokane will be great.
So, let's all get our new belts, bags, attachments, gloves, etc, ready................

How about another convention here on the east coast closer to NY and hopefully not on Fathers Day weekend, there are some Dad's that would love to attend a convention without missing time with their kids.

"on the east coast"

If any want to see 100s of vacs and parts in the east near Interstates 26,40 & 81 in a former vac shop that MUST be cleaned out and downsized with MOST prices from $0--$20 call me and set up a date of your choosing!!(more later and separately with pictures)

I will be there. This will be my first vacuum convention. My husband and I are driving our motorhome up. Since Spokane is his hometown, we are planning on visiting his family and friends while we are there. Looking forward to meeting new people.

I spoke with Chad recently.

It looks like things are going along nicely. There will be few changes this year. I still have to update the list of deceased members, etc.
It'll be great to see new faces as well as seasoned members. The VCCC... the original, the only............... still going.

VCCC convention

I am really looking forward to this year’s convention it’s going to be a blast! One of the wonderful things about the VCCC is that members are encouraged to bring their own vacuums. I enjoy hearing the stories behind our member’s vacuums. This gives our members the opportunity to show off their restorations and enter our non-cleaning contests. Personally, I would rather bring my own vacuum from my collection and set it on display or use it in one of our cleaning contests. It’s more personable for me.

The VCCC is also able to travel every year to a different part of the US. For example this year we will be in Spokane Washington to see one of our long time member’s collection and vacuum shop. I feel that we support our members by traveling to where they are located. Which changes every year! The VCCC has membership dues and a convention fee in order to put on an organized convention. Without dues and a convention fee we could not do so. I have personally been to at least five VCCC conventions starting in 2010 and every year I've had an excellent time. I look forward going to the VCCC convention every year and seeing my vacuum collecting family.

I hope to see everyone in Spokane this year!

You're absolutely right, Kenny!

We've gotten to see a lot of the U.S. by attending these conventions. Everyone who goes admits that they're worth every penny.Well, they keep coming back!
We reunite w/ old friends, and create new friendships. no bashing of brands, people, events, It's very civilized. It's a lot of fun, sharing, etc. Hopefully, it will remain drama-free.
Get packing, everyone!

Looking forward to the fun and friendship

Gentlemen,
Brett and I will be visiting Marc's home and shop next week in Spokane to offer what assistance we can in preparation for next month's convention. Can you believe it's just a few weeks away?

Eastern Washington is a beautiful part of the US. Besides the grandeur of the state and the Cascades, Idaho, British Columbia, and Alberta are close by. I've traveled to that area since I was a child as my dad's family is just a couple hours south of Spokane. In fact I'll be visiting my father in Idaho just prior to the convention for Father's Day.
Best Wishes,
Sean

Sean AND Brett......

It's great that you're both going to be there. I just printed my form, etc this week. And, I got a roommie!
Kenny is absolutely correct.
Just think: EVERY year, we travel to a different part of the country. We see wonderful sights, are welcomed into so many member's homes, see their personal collections, etc.
For instance, since I joined The VCCC in 2008, we've been to the "Home of Hoover Appliances", N. canton, Ohio. We've been to Kirby, Filter Queen, etc.. Yes, even "I" set foot in those places. We've been to Chicago twice, Autstin, Texas, Portland, Minneapolis, St. Louis.... had a great time at The Fox Theatre. Last year was fantastic, too. We visited BMX Gary's place as well as countless vacuum shops. WE even were wonderfully welcomed at Stark's museum a few years back, as well as Jon Dufore's home, Jeff Parker's place, Phillip's and Shaylee's, Robert Seger's Barb's and Scott's , Dave Olsen's, Kenny's, etc. W even met the great Ruth Hollander. We were at Houston's and his partners home. People were laughing, eating, enjoying the
pool, etc. Because of the number of attendees, there's no possible way to not host these events at a hotel. Cleaning contests, raffles, games, dinners, etc. THAT's why there is a fee involved. It's proven time and time again to be worth every cent.
Even in spite of adverse comments, (some of us have even been referred to as "queens", isn't THAT ridiculous?.. we persevere, actually thrive.
Look up old posts about The VCCC's conventions. You'll relive past good times as well as become enlightened by what we do, who we are, etc.
