Huge thank you

To Father Bruce for doing this. I had a wonderful time. It was nice seeing Tom G.and Michael B. as well, we all chatted about vacuums and got to see Father Bruce's beautiful Model XII, that was a real treat. I'm glad these have found forever homes. I learned alot and had a great time. I also want to thank Clayton and his dad David for opening up their home to me. Clayton and I had a great time and I can't wait to get together again. Clayton has a great collection of TVs, Vacs, and Toilets. He also got some great stuff from the sale too!

Thank You again everyone and hope to see and meet others soon.

hose end

What hose end was used on those compacts? Was it the standard hose end or the end that Tristar now uses? I wonder when this particular compact was made. This motor has a very nice pleasant sound to it, very similar to the Electrolux G or 1205. I can see why so many manufacturers used it.

Standard friction fit hose and. If it has a power nozzle it's the standard and with the wand pick button.
It utilizes a dual stage Lamb-Ametek motor...very different from an Electrolux G or 1205.

I have a model C6 for you Mike. It has the motor you love in it, the sound you like, and a standard friction fit hose end. It fits the volt power nozzle perfectly. Disposable bags are still very common.

thanks Tom!

I can't wait to see this compact! Just wondering, any idea when it was made? When did compact or tristar start using the odd shaped hose end, was that when Aerus bought them? Man, I'm drooling over that compact already. I've also thought about trying to find an Airway from that time period, did Airways use a standard hose end? I know the Electrolux motor that was used in the Electrolux G and 1205 was completely different, but the sound and pitch of the Electrolux motor reminds me of that Ametek motor, what a contrast compared to all the jet screaming motors that vacuums use now.

The Compact I brought for your from Fr. Bruce's Vacuum Palooza was made in the mid 1960's. It's a model C6. You'll love the motor sound. It uses standard hose end, they didn't go to non-standard until Electrolux bought them in the late 1990's.

The Air-Ways of the 1970's have the wonderful Ametek motor and use standard 1 1/4 inch hose ends too. Both machines will fit your Volt and you'll love using them.

Convention is only 2 weeks away now - so excited. Don't know how I'll fit 60 people (confirmed coming) into my house for a cocktail party?

very excited too

Yes, can't wait for the convention, if I can ever find an airway from that time period, I will probably get it as well, they just don't make them like that anymore. Hopefully that compact will be just as happy in its new home as the three vacuums I broght home last year. Perhaps I'll be able to get some other canisters as well.
