I use adjustable wire racks to store my vacuums it can really save space if done right. I'd lay uprights flat and put them on the shelving too.

The wire racks or shelving originated in the restaurant industry.
They are called baker's racks or Metro racks (Metro is one manufacturer).
Home Depot, Lowe's,Costco, Sam's Club, and I believe Walmart sell them as well.
You can try a restaurant supply place to get the real (heavier) commercial Metro racks.
The original ones use tapered plastic sleeves that use friction, along with ridges to hold the shelves in place.
Buying retail, you have a fixed number of shelves, but if you buy multiple, you can increase the density of shelves per unit.

You can always use the time honored method of making room by thinning the herd. It may save you money as well as sanity.
Shelves! I use tables, and shelves. Shelves are the way to go!

Angled shelving for display
I'm considering how I'm going to build display shelving. I want something angled, so one can see the vac regardless of what level the shelf is.
I want to be able to cover the shelves as well, to protect them from dust, so it should have a top shelf at about 7' and perhaps down lights for illumination.
One thing is for sure, I'm not sticking my collection in cardboard boxes, only to be taken out twice a year. Nor do I want them crowded onto generic shelving, hoses and attachments sitting will-nilly.
