I'm just curious to know something... Since Vacuumland is no longer an "official" part of the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Club, how does word get out about the Club?

I can't find a single mention of the VCCC on this web site, so I am wondering how people can find out about the club, pay dues, and join. And how much are the dues nowadays?

Interestingly, a Google search of "Vacuum Cleaner Collectors' Club" comes up with the following. See screen shot below.

Thanks,

Hi Charlie!

Sure is different than when You and I rode with Stann Kann to see Alex "Bob" Taber and that first meeting the summer before, we really did have fun didnt we!! I dont even know where to send dues too now, and im not sure i will anyway.

My two cents

The club is really only if you want to go to convention. You can still have fun with like minded folks without the costs. See ya in MO.

No newsletter to speak of..
No website for the club...

I guess I don't get it. BUT

The site is a 1000% better with Robert running the show. Plus it pulls everyone together without having to be part of a click.

I asked if there was a pdf version of the newsletter late last year and someone kindly sent me one, and it was an interesting read. However VERY americanised (for obvious reasons!)

If us UK guys (and any other nationalities) were to club together and put material together for the newsletter then maybe it would have more success here?

Do have to say though I see this forum as the club mainly, especially since we don't have our own convention (and I imagine it would cost an eye watering fortune over here). "Hello Mr Hotel man, can I use my vacuum in your confrence hall?" "Is it PAT tested?"...get out...

VCCC Benefits

According to the link provided, which seems to be somewhat obsolete, this is what membership entitles one to:

Membership in the VCCC is currently $35.00 annually, payable in US funds only. Membership is valid for one calendar year (January 1ST to December 31ST)Applicants joining in October or later are credited through the following year.

Membership entitles you to complimentary issues of our quarterly (printed) newsletter, eligibility to register (additional cost**) for our annual conventions, advanced navigational tools on the VCCC website Vacuumland, and access to the members only forum.

So, with this in mind, the newsletter is no longer being offered and Vacuumland is not a VCCC website as it is being maintained by voluntary donations to Robert Seger. The only benefit left is the eligibility to register for conventions, for which you have to spend even more money to attend. Because of this, I see no value in paying $35 annually, which is why I decided not to renew my membership.

thanks Charles!

just to go along with Hans in another post I figured it would be well fitted here too.

"Membership entitles you to complimentary issues of our quarterly (printed) newsletter"
which is no longer printed so need I say more!

Just my 2 cents as well
