Unusual L-Shaped Whirlpool Powerhead

My friend Alex was over tonight and showed me his latest estate sale find. Can anyone tell us what model this would've belonged to? I would assume this was after the original ABC powerhead that was first with Whirlpool. Whadya think?

OMG this is new to me. Being a power nozzle freak I would kill for this. Lol ( just kidding Alex )(maybe) so it looks like this was the first L shape pn? Could some find a pic of the machine this went to?

WOW!

Thats a rare bird! I can't remember seeing one of those on a Kenmore, but I did see one on a commercial Whirlpool that looked like the old Oreck round commercial vacs IIRC it was at the bowling alley along with an Electrolux CA. The replaced the both of them with Henry and threw the other two out,grrr.
Anyway Im thinking it belonged to a commercial unit.

1962 Whirlpool!!

And 1962 Lady Kenmore Whispertone, this was also sold by Rainbow very briefly. The 62 Kenmore was pink and had the very first pistol grip!!

If the powernozzle were from 1962

It would say RCA Whirlpool and Whirlpool would be written in cursive. This Whirlpool Logo was not used until 1968...the first year since 1955 that Whirlpool appliances were know as just Whirlpool.,...so this powernozzle must be a circa 1970 version

I know for a while a nozzle like that was sold as a optional attachment with the Rainbow D2. The coloring on that one makes me think thats what this one might have been used for. They sold a black Whirlpool nozzle for a little while before this one.

Whirlpools vacuum division was bought out by Dave Oreck in 1963, whirlpool did not make vacuums again until the late 70s and then only briefly, except for the private label stuff for sears.

That may be....

BUT go look at any Whirlpool ad literature or appliance from 1962 and you will note two things...ALL Whirlpool appliances in 1962 were offically known as RCA Whirlpool with the Whirlpool name writen in cursive. Whirlppol products did not drop the RCA part of the name until 1967-68. Also I do remember seeing a post here that showed a CU report on vacuums from 1970-71 that showed a picture of an Oreck Commercial vacuum with a powernozzle that said Whirlpool on it and it was the same Whirlpool logo that was on the powernozzle in this thread......PAT COFFEY

I just checked Wikipedia and

according to their page on David Oreck he bought a abandoned vacuum design from Whirlpool....not their whole vacuum division. The link below is to the Wikipedia page of which I speak...if you think about it it makes sense...if RCA Whirlpool had sold him their vacuum divison that would have meant they could not have made anymore vacuums for Kenmore and we know Whirlpool made all Kenmore cannister Vacs until Panasonic took over circa 1986....PAT COFFEY

This actually goes to a Whirlpool V-150 2 Speed canister vacuum from the late 60's. I know somewhere out in Google there is a parts schematic for the canister, but for now here's the 1967 Consumer Reports with it making the front cover

I stand corrected...

You are right,he only bought the upright that became the Oreck, but that pn was used first on the 61 and 62 Lady Kenmore Whispertone.
