I've been tempted to get one of these off eBay, a very early incarnation of the working cordless handheld vacuum !!

history!  (HA,  ye thought I was gonna bash?)  Not that I WANT/NEED one,  but,  they were a very popular item.

Ah, yes... the classic Black & Decker #9330 Dustbuster from 1979-85.

I have what is likely on of the first ever B&W dustbusters..

It's a GIANT!Almost the size of a full size canister,With a motor to match,too!
The thing's motor is the same as an canister!Huge and powerful!
The best part is...it doesn't recharge...IT PLUGS IN,WITH A CORD!

Looks like my giant B&D collector hand vac which is also 120v and beastly for a handvac.

This is making me feel a bit old. We had a couple of B&D Dustbusters in a row in the late '70's-'80's. One of the chores parceled out to my children was Dustbusting the kitchen floor. I think their advantage over a broom and dustpan was novelty and that's about it. The little dirt cassette was rather small, and the tiny filter wouldn't take much to overwhelm.

I wonder if this was the inspiration for the design of the phasers in Star Trek: The Next Generation? These phasers definitely look like Dustbusters!
