Vacbear58 i have the Junior 119 with the brown bag as have managed to get an original bag for this model off Ebay but at a price ! The Hoover juniors that i have in my collection are a 1958 1334 with the metal fan cover as opposed to the plastic one,2 1334A's in the grey and off white colour scheme ,a 1334A in the jonquil and hop green colour scheme ,2 1334E's one with the original bag ,a U1104 and a U1036 .Have been trying to put a pic of them all on here but have been unable to as the camera original digital pic has too many pixels on it as the message comes up when i try to send . hopefully someone will tell me how to send it

Al!

I think your staircase of Juniors is beautiful. I simply line the stairs here for mini meets for the same reason. There's a much smaller staircase in the back of the house. There are 10 HOOVER 'Convertibles", your "Seniors' there at all times . This big old house has 11 rooms. There are vacuums EVERYWHERE at any given time. But, when I host a mini/mega meet, I bring out fun machines to see, use. I try to bring out models they others haven't seen at my house before. There's one in the formal dining room all the time. My aunt once asked me ,"Are you going to keep that thing out during dinner"? I replied, "Yes, it makes a nice accent piece in any home, don't you think?" That was the end of THAT discussion. It's nice to see those "Happy Birthday, HOOVER" T-shirts over there on you 2 guys, too. THAT was great fun in Ohio. It was GREAT that ye were able to make it over here.

WHY ...

... were the British Hoovers so different than the American Hoovers?

It's the same company. Why not make the same identical sweepers?

hi NYCWriter,

i sometimes wonder that myself. Hoover and Electrolux seemed to have different styles in the different countries.

the hoover junior range never took off in the states but did here. but as americans like things big and large maybe the houses were deemed too big there to warrant a small cleaner.

i lived in florida for 22 years and the houses are much bigger there than they are here. that could be one reason.
