Aerus Guardian made by Electrolux AB?
Interesting comment that Aerus’s top of the line is being made by Electrolux AB? I wonder if this is indeed true. I do know it is made in Europe rather than the Lux Classic or Lux Legacy which are American made machines. And this top of the line guardian model seems to share the entire hose connection and wand system with Tristar. It is my understanding that Aerus owns tristar now? Guess I’m due for a visit to my local Aerus branch to pick the brain of my salesperson. I live in Dallas, TX just around the corner from the Aerus headquarters office. Maybe I can stop by there and get more info. All these mergers, partnerships, acquisitions, sales of names, etc....now I’m learning Electrolux AB doesn’t sell their vacuum cleaner products in the US anymore after they made that big fuss to buy out the US Electrolux’s name around 2000 causing Electrolux of the US to rename to Aerus.. Perhaps Aerus will strike up another deal to add the Electrolux name back onto their products, especially if Aerus is in partnership of some sort to have Electrolux AB build the guardian and since Electrolux AB isn’t selling here in the states anymore.
I think most everyone can agree that the name change from Electrolux to Aerus did not help the US Company in any good way, as people generally think what was the US Electrolux is just gone and was taken over by the European Eureka owned company that sold their machines here in the US and they didn’t measure up in quality disappointing many who bought them thinking they were getting an Electrolux made by the US company. Part of this problem I think is due to Aerus’s lack of advertising and informing the public of the name change right from the get go. Something they still fail to do to this day. Though I have have seen an occurrence of an Aerus ad in a magazine such as Good Housekeeping but since I don’t get magazines maybe I’m wrong on this?
And public knowledge of the product by door to door sales is gone because no one answers their doors to strangers or sales people anymore due to safety and security reasons so door to door salesman can’t say they are selling the Aerus, formerly Electrolux vacuums anymore and therefore that opportunity simply never existed anymore. Yes, one can get a salesman to come out, but you must call your local branch to ask for someone to come out to the house.
I’ve found some of the public sort of knows that Electrolux of the US still exists mostly because they got some sort of information that the name changed from a friend or someone who still has a US Electrolux and went by the store and learned of the name change and eventually it came up in a later conversation but often the information is wrong...that there was a buyout or sale of the company or name or something...all sorts of wrong information is floating around out there and really it’s a result of Aerus’s lack to properly publicize this widely enough to prevent the disaster that has happened.
