This jumped to the top of the pile recently, I tripped over it once too many times in the garage, so bought it home last week. It's creaking alot, so I thought a strip-down and clean was in order.

The remains of a bojack air freshener!

Removed the bag door

Sadly the bag door is going the way of all the boosts I've ever had. Have one or two pieces of it though, will repair as best I can

Stripped out the rest of the bag compartment

Then the tool holder. Tried to get the hose holder off, but the bottom screw rounded off on me, so had to leave it on

I have the missing piece, another bit to glue

Fading much?

How the plastics should look, un-faded

This has had a Hoover Repair at some point (sticker on the handle), so that must be when they siliconed the fan case. It's something I always do, but never see on an un-touched cleaner

Front room looked ok I thought (SWMBO was at work!)

Every screw

From Boost

The boost has a lean, but the brace looks ok. I have the one from my parts vac which stood up fine though, may compare and see if it helps

From Boost

Then it all got washed and put upstairs to dry. Just polished the hood, need to glaze and wax it next

Will update when I next do anything. Going to try and get the motor sorted tomorrow night, so I can take it over to my mums and re silicone it together, and find a large cable-tie!

Hi Mr

Hi, Nice Hoover Boost. I use to have two of these but I got rid of them a year or two ago as they was in poor condition. Well....really yellow. I could not of put them on display in my museum so they went when I moved nearly 2 years ago now.

My how time flies:o)

Look forward to seeing more pictures:o)

Mean anything to anyone?

Slightly worrying. Think I have a spare set with more meat left in the garage, or I'll just put these back in, since it won't be used much

From Boost

Washed the plastics up after doing the washing up

From Boost

Gave the chassis and back a good polish, got rid of all the marks and scuffs. Shame about the fading though

From Boost

However, in the right light it looks good

From Boost

So, need to find spare carbon brushes, hinge pivot thing and maybe swap the brushroll to my better spare. Then just re-assembly and she will be good as new!

You have done wonders there sam! I may have to pay you to give some of mine your magic touch ;-) I cleaned the dirt searcher up today and after about four hours she came up a treat but my god the rubber handle grip was a challenge but worth it in the end. I always find it a shame with turbopowers re the weak plastics..That is my only gripe with them and other than that i think they are amazing. I have a boost also.Has some cracking but works ok. Yours is much nicer tho.

You would be surprised how easy it is to strip them down and clean them up. I would be happy to do one for you, but I think you should get hold of any old vac and give it a go! Just note all wiring, label all screws (I punched a hole in one years ago by using the wrong length screw)

I wouldn't get started on your turbomastrer though, find a scrapper somewhere!

Back together last nigh. Not many pictures, but

Cable ties were 50p from the carboot, perfect size for bellows!

From Boost

And the damage, crack in the handle, goes right through but doesnt flex in use. Covered in glue from the inside which soaked through

From Boost

The base of the back is going in the corners. Glued and re-inforced from the inside, hidden by other parts

And the afters

From Boost

From Boost

From Boost

nasty one on the base, re-inforced and solid again

From Boost

bad repair to the front of the handle, but it works, so don't want to make it worse

From Boost

old service sticker

damage on the top of the bag door

And with my Autoflex Plus, the only other headlit TP I have that isn't in storage

Thinking of passing it on now, it doesn't really do anything for me, I feel no attachment. Will get a for sale thread up soon

You,ve done wonders there sam. It always gets to me how the everyday people of this world miss treat things. If you do sell i will be interested.

Will.

I'd say I've mistreat it a bit too, I got it over 5 years ago now, and it sat in my bedroom as a clothes horse for 2, then in the garage getting moved around and knocked over for another 3!

Getting in the mood to sell it, need to get some bubble wrap and a good box first thought before I offer it for sale.
