Tristar CXL 2 speed wiring question?

I have both a two speed red Tristar CXL and a Filter Queen D33 - this FQ does not have the performance indicator light. The Tristar is rated at 7.5 amps but the FQ is rated at 8.3 amps (both without the powerhead), so I'd assume that although the motors are similar and might very well interchange they are not identical. Both vacs are from the early '80s, I'm guessing '82.

Telly2, that can be fun. Way back when I bought a used FQ that was doing the same thing. I brilliantly decided it needed to be lubed. Sooooo, I fired up the vac and sprayed WD40 into the discharge. It is amazing how high the flames, sparks and globs of molten metal could go.
