I went to run my beloved Trad today, only to find out it wouldn't turn on! I turned out the safety switch was cracked. I took it off and found this: None I the wires were connected in the first place! Only the green and yellow wire would return to their places if I replaced the cover.

Here I can hold the two pieces back together. If you look close enough you can see the crack.
Can anyone give me advice on fixing this?

Yes, buy a new safety switch, don't try to fix it because if it somehow trips both low and high speeds at the same time, you will damage the armature, spend the $15-$20 for a new switch and do it right.

I have to agree with Vacman. It's always easier and more satisfactory in the long run to fix it correctly than to try and jerry-rig it.
