Tradition Belt lifter

This Tradition I am working on, also known as bojack, is working me so hard it should be required to send me a W2. I cannot get the belt lifter back together on the nozzle for the life of me. My fingers hurt!! Is there a trick that someone has up their sleeve. I read the service bulletin, but the pictures are pretty vague

I feel your pain...

...literally. My fingers were pretty sore after I put my Legend II's nozzle back together last fall. The belt lifter was especially painful. Fortunately, it only took me about 30 minutes to get the pieces back together properly. I think someone had had it apart previously because the little sticker covering the screw that holds the belt lifter together was missing when I got it and is still missing.

The top label for your Legend II nozzle would be part no. 146388.

Wished I'd known

not to use the newer knurled belts on the older 500 models sooner. I had two lifters literally come apart in my hands.

I can do one of those pretty easy as it is held together with a screw. This contraption has a clip that has to clip two pieces together. Bout the time you think you have it, the chrome piece works its way out and the whole assembly comes apart.

If your fingers are hurting then you might be doing it wrong. ) However, I had to learn it that way, too.

Once I had found the technique, it was pretty easy. Of course it was so long ago I am not sure I could repeat it and master it on the first try...

I used to use a Kirby Omega in a church years ago.

I hated that belt lifter. The rectory housekeeper did as well.
