Let's see, the progressive northern state of Pennsylvania only sells liquor at state owned liquor/wine stores that happen to open on Sunday from 11 AM till 7 PM and beer is sold in separate stores known as, "beer distributors", which are not allowed to sell wine.
Sounds easy to get your alcoholic beverages for holidays or events...........Really?
If you look at another progressive northern state, Maryland, their liquor laws for their approx. 24 counties are a mishmash of archaic thinking too unless it is a major grocery store grandfathered in under yet another law. Another easy place to shop............Really?
And my all time favorite progressive northern state and their laws? See below:
New York Liquor Laws

Now let's see, when I lived in San Francisco, I could buy beer, wine, liquor 24/7, 365 in any grocery, 7-11 or super center. In Atlanta, there are/were 24 hour bars due to special licensing. I'm in North Carolina now and it never really seemed to be any more an issue than in many of our progressive northern states yet North Carolina is frequently derided for being backward. BTW, you can buy beer and wine in NC on Sunday after 12 noon and purchase alcohol in restaurants on Sunday after 12 noon. Those laws apply to many, many states north, south, east and west.
Perhaps the emperor is wearing NO clothes..............
(Please no food fights--this is to be thought provoking and NOT agitating.)
