Hey
I received the mini emtor from Chris Hicks. Thanks Chris it's a beauty. I had already taken out internals and had the vacuum was apart.
I also took my 505 nozzle out.
The bags I had them made.
I used my 18lb 12 amp 9 inch DeWalt professional polisher and buffer. I clamped the vacuum down and polished away. I'd say maybe 5 minutes of polishing. It's insane but it was addrenalin rush. I'm going to post on you tube. I'm hoping maybe I can break 10 subscribers.
It was way fun to polish. I think I may be onto something.
Pic 6 with the extra notch is my 505.
Pic 8 is the 505 rebuild I got from the Plano Kirby shop. The emtor is 509 or 510.
I don't know I think the bags are okay and polish job it's not bad either.

Thanks

It was a 9 " polisher at 3600 RPMs.
It was more making sure it was clamped down good. I only used mothers mag.
I'll use polish compounds on the next vacuums.

lol I was kind of joking. It does take 30 minutes, but consider that I'm going from 80 grit to 3000, then 3 stages of polishing. Not counting time to replate.

Ya

I did sand already I just polished. I'm going sand a couple spots. I sanded them all by hand and it was a few hours too. I just excited to see the 3c done.

I have 3 505s and a 3c. The 3c is polished. My 505 from Plano Texas is unpolished machine. I used it to put wheels and parts for both machines.
The emtor goes on the 3c. I'm getting a polisher for 2c using on my 3c.

Hmm

I noticed the wheels have 2 sizes. If you look red paint on them too. The washers were red.
The toe touch does have red paint.
The handle is original albeit does have tape on it but it is original.
The handle pins 505 from Texas and 3c have correct distinction to them.
The nozzle I with helped dated to 1961. It is a belt lifter. Which since I have a 506 with a belt cap it's not original.
The fan is similar to phaeton's fan shown a while back.
It's a real nice vacuum but not all original as my 505. With the emtor goes a long way on the restoration.
