What's a Thrift Store?

Unfortunately for me there are no thrift stores around by me.

Fortunately, there are plenty of vacs available at the curb on trash day waiting for me to collect them during my commute to work. Uprights, canisters, wet/dry vacs, carpet cleaners.

My only costs in getting them fully operational is towards bags, belts and sometimes a power cord for those who cut the cord.

"Thrift Store"

would be like Salvation Army, Goodwill, St. Vincent DePaul, etc. There are several on Long Island. Maybe just not out in the Hamptons, but there are around Hempstead and Huntington.

Yes, I know about the one in Hempstead, but it's out of my way, and I would have to pay to get someone else's castoffs.

I'm fortunate that I am able to get plenty 'o vacs on my commute to work, they patiently wait for me as I drive by, I stop and rescue them from a terrible fate.
