this year's convention

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Hey Ken:
The Baymont in Rolla, MO is very nice, and you could get the best rate online. The GreenStay in St. James is also good, don't know if they are booked yet. Can't wait to see you again - it will be just like "old times".

tandom air canister and guardian platinum

Looking forward to seeing the new Tandom air nozzle, will the new Prima models still have the same suction motor as before or are they different? I know many like the Guardian platinum, my issue with that vacuum is that the hose end is nonstandard, I know there is an adapter to make it a standard fit, but the electrical connector is nonstandard as well, the two contacts are very spread out so there is no way to connect other nozzles to it. I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food, but most Mexican places also have hot wings, I will see what they have. It's interesting that Chico's does not show up on google or any GPS phone app. Really looking forward to having a power nozzle shoot out and seeing how the different nozzles do on different kinds of carpet. In order to carry the nozzles, I'm going to use the tote that I keep all of my hoses and attachments in, will have to remove all of that and put the power nozzles in to it, I think I have 10 of them. I will also bring a cord that lets you use a power nozzle with a nonelectric hose, so we could hook these power nozzles up to vacuums such as the canned ham vibra beat, a Kenkart, or how about the sunbeam dual deluxe? My CT23 nozzle is designed to clean the soft carpets, it would be interesting to test that on some thick or shag carpet, and I love the CT10 nozzle for hard floors, it has a special brush roll that sweeps and polishes a hard floor while vacuuming. I also have to say that I'm looking forward to this more than holidays, since I can't take pictures, I will have my digital recorder with me again, hoping to get lots of recordings of all the vacuums that we run.

Re Cheese curls and baloney sandwiches

Darn Tom, I was hoping for potted meat, pig feet and chittlins ... I remember the bbq you fixed for us in 96, it was wonderful!

I really would like too

We will see how the week goes, its a LOOONG drive, I remember the first time I drove to StLouis , it was 1996 and I drove a 62 Plymouth!

getting to the museum

Hey Tom, I sent you an email with my phone number, let me know if you didn't get it, what time were you planning on heading to the museum on Thursday? So excited about the convention, going to pack all of my power nozzles tonight, I wish I could bring my barracuda and garage vac central vacuum units as well, but I just can't carry that much, maybe I will bring the central vacuum units next year.

No Mike:
Didn't get the email. My email address is [email protected]

Everyone is arriving at the Museum at 9:00 am on Thursday. Some people, like Craiger, are eating breakfast at Tuggie & Joe's that morning. If you're up early, you might consider riding with him over to St. James. Do you still have Craiger's number? If you don't want to go to breakfast, I can always pick you up on my way to work - whatever you wish. You're staying at the Baymont if I'm not mistaken.

Ihave to work

Wed night, so I probably wont get there until early Friday morning if I do get to come, dread driving that far, but I just had the oil changed and the tires rotated and re balanced...I hope there is a vacancy somewhere.

Todd:

The assembled group is going to Sirloin Stockade in Rolla, MO for dinner at 6:00 on Thursday. You'll be right on time. Can't wait to see you.

Rumor has it

Mr Gasko may get a very special item for display in the Museum, a very rare thing that probably is the only one that exists today...A rare vacuum display item from the late 50s.Maybe even the machine to match!

Hans:

Frank Morgan isn't arriving until Friday either. We will have peace and quiet at the museum to be able to try out machines, talk, and see everything. The assembled convention is caravaning to St. Louis to see other collectors homes and collections. They will be back Friday evening for dinner. You will have the time of your life, I promise. Just like in the "old days", like it used to be. Just good vacuums, good friends, good times, and lots of laughs. Maybe even some cheese curls, and a couple of bologna sandwiches.

second email

Ok Tom, I tried the new email address, hopefully this one worked, if not, let me know and I will just post my phone number here, that's the main thing I included in the email, ok, I think it's time to start packing the power nozzles. Perhaps I will get to hook them up to that Central vacuum beast in the museum. Looking forward to this like a kid looking forward to Christmas.

We will miss you most of all, Tin Man. As a preview, here is Robert Clow with his "new to him" Hoover constellation and dial a matic duo. Bob Humphreys helps Robert install his HEPA bag and filter for his Constellation.
