VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Progress!!!!

The chairs are here. The tables are here. The food is here. Sale items are in the car.
Joe has been a real help. He's been vacuuming with about 5 different Hoovers. He's dying to 'attack' the "Victorian bedroom... full of machines! Because my reg carpenter is battling throat cancer, and, it's impossible getting another at the moment, (they're SOOOOO busy), I've had to make the decision to close off the 'gallery/cats' apartment', and the Victorian bedroom. BUT... I/we chose several things to bring out of those rooms for display. Will Hem would go insane if let loose in them. Maybe in the Fall, Will. So, 8 rooms are open. And, yes, (seems to be one of my 'attacks'.. "If a door is locked or closed, it's done for a reason. Now, that'll be spoken of .. (like I really care).
So......... here we go!

Hi John. Good luck for the convention.

And I just saw the vacuum of the day. Not a vacuum, but perfect to start off the weekend. It's the Hoover Floor washer. So this looks like a good omen.

Wish I could be there, but I'm stuck in Arizona. But I'm with you in thoughts. And I want lots of pictures. I'll be attending from the sidelines. By the way, Caligula is sending his best wishes from his place in cat Heaven.

Have fun,

Alex Taber.

Thanks, Alex!

Well, we got off to a great start. Some of the surprises were revealed. We have a "GIANT HOOVER and TWO model 0s !! They came from the warehouse in Ohio. I asked Michael Pletcher (the reason I joined the VCCC) if I could borrow the giant vacuum. He said, "Sure! Why don't I just bring it"? And, so he did! I was able to run it along with an "0".
Plus, a film crew is here. More on the later.

So, more to come soon.
John

Today, the first full day

went beautifully. The weather was perfect. Some members visited The Anthracite Heritage Museum. Then, there were cleaning contests, then, the "garden Party" at my home. Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves, thank goodness.
Tomorrow, general meeting, trip to a great vac store, lunch at Joe's, dinner at a great Italian restaurant, then, awards, etc.

It's great to see everyone again, and to welcome new people. pics tomorrow.

We were going to 2 vac shops

originally. However, due to COVID, that store is only offering "curb service" due to a family member who has issues. It's a shame. That store has been around for decades.
But, this one today is showing lots of vintage machines, talking about their history, even offering the club a special 'VCCC members' discount'.
More on this later.

John, yes, it was

As I thought I mentioned, we WERE supposed to go to 2. But, a relative has an immune issue, so we were unable. BUT, the Aerus visit was excellent. "Scott" was beyond gracious. BEYOND. We had a wonderful time there. Then, we went to Joe Kassock's home. Again, a triumph!. Then we enjoyed an excellent dinner at Colarusso's . Back at the hotel, we had another presentation, then the awards, then finished the night.

More will be posted in a NEW thread.
