The PIGG has arrived.

" yes ma'am. You definitely need a Pigg. Cause you are Blanche, cause you are. " It's the ugliest vacuum cleaner I've ever seen. Well, there were some pretty ugly Hoovers so maybe not the ugliest. But in the top 10. It uses water as a filter. I'm going to hook it up to the cordless power nozzle and let it root out the dirt. I'll post a video of it to Phillips vacuum group on Facebook

The last time I saw one it was 17 years ago. Found it at the one shop we have in Houston that I always remembered for having off-the-wall brands.

Hans - you're right, definitely not a NSS Pig, the direct air straight suction canisters Tolivac likes. This PIGG is made by a Polish manufacturer, Zelmer, & has been sold under a couple other names in Europe. From what I understand, this was a rebrand for PIGG Industries, based in Conroe, Texas, & their intention was to sell them door-to-door.

Actually the "PIGG" is kinda "cute"Like the color.Figure the hose intake must be right into the water bin.Couldn't find anything about this vacuum.

Since it's a PIGG and has a snout like a Pig they should give it a curly telephone like cord so it can have a curly tail hahahaha

I hooked it up to the cordless power nozzle. The model 11 Electrolux from 1928 is in the background for size comparison.

It's as heavy as a Haley's Comet. There are three (3) 'stomachs' on this Pigg. You put water in it (2 liters). There is a cyclone chamber inside. You can choose for the dirt to remain dry, and the air from the cyclone is filtered by the water. You can choose for the dirt to be wet "but" it's all in the cyclone chamber. OR you can have the dirt go directly to the water, bypassing the cyclone.
It's easy to empty when the dirt remains dry. I put Rainbow fragrances in the water, and it works well.

Is this a separator machine? The "Three stomach" comment made me think it is not, just asking for clarification.

Is this traditionally a straight suction machine, or can it come with it's own power nozzle?

With the size and then adding water, it looks like it could be a heft to lift.

Nope! No separator there, unless you could call a sponge filter a separator.

I think they must be a Zelmer design cause even all the tools look exactly like all the tools Zelmer does for all its other cleaners (Polish pal here btw, I know this company in and out lol).

They used to be called Aquarius Duo or Trio. Basically same shape, one of them wet and dry, the other one also washed carpets (poorly, used it once when my auntie had it, spat out water at the back).

I remember when they used to advertise their ingenious separation system. There was one model where first the air went through the bag, then through a filter, then through a filter submerged in water, then through water, then through sponge and then through microfibre filter. Crazy.

So I found the manual in english for you guys for the 3 in 1 version. They're so similar, as far as I remember the pump button used to just be blanked out on the Duo version (which on yours I think is a suction control). And also the clear water reservoir was changed to a tool storage.

Thank you so much for scanning the owners manual. My "Pigg" didn't have a paper bag, but I can easily make a Simplicity H bag fit. There are so many filters and levels - I can't begin to imagine what a chore it would be to clean wet dog hair from all the internal parts.

I bought one too! Where can I get spare parts and filters?

I found one for sale also-- I could use some advice on purchasing spare parts and filters (mine is missing the cover for the "fizelina" insert). How does yours clean?

I'm not really sure how easy this would be to find spare parts for this machine in the US.

I bet far harder than in Poland ha! Only good thing about Zelmer is the low price and extreme availability of spare parts. I'm not home till later this year but I'll keep you in mind and have a look around once I go back to visit and see what spare parts I can find!

I showed the Pigg to my friend, and fellow vacuum collector, Dalton. He was amazed at the machine. The words "Rube Goldberg Contraption" kept coming up - LOL.

There are two 'filters' you can use if you don't want the dirt to go into the water. One is black, and kind of a thin fabric (good luck getting more), and one is like cardboard. I don't see how either 'filter' is going to work for more than a minute.

The curly Q cord is cute though.

One can only imagine how many of these machines will die an early death because of improper set up for dry pick up. Or be put out at the curb because they are to complicated to set up properly for use. Far to many options for dry pick up.
