Don't know how this is ....

Going to increase their sales. All a Sentria owner has to do is buy the new bag, and the blue handle carrier and possibly the cord has a little blue in it as well, can't tell. Can't tell if that is gold or brown by the picture, but again they used gray with it......

Sincerely,

Bud Mattingly

Thanks for the pictures, I do appreciate that....

Oh, please....

SEVEN YEARS FOR THIS!!!????   This is all they could come up with? All they could do? The best they could muster?

It still weighs over 20 lbs. It still does not have on board tools. Every day at least 5,000 people turn age 65 in this country. What happens when people turn 65? They retire. They downsize. They tend to be more cautious about spending money. The population that has made Kirby what it is is getting greyer, less mobile, more frugal, and moving into smaller living spaces.  If the anniversary model is introduced after only one year, that means OVER 18 MILLION PEOPLE WILL HAVE TURNED AGE 65.

I don't know what Kirby is thinking, but they are not thinking much.

love Alex's cartoon ;-)

So true! Exactly what I was thinking.

Well here we go: Years of hushed-up "hard thinking" and what do we see? Some Jetsons' family 60s fabric pattern (any arbitrary print design apprentice could have done the job just the same).

Rumors are going: "oh but that is not even a fraction of what is coming!" Aha. So what.

Trebor, you are so right. What will be Kirby's future audience?
It's the Sentria II-shrug-it-off to me...

It looks as if Kirby tried to copy Rainbow with the whole "action parts" thing. If you look closely, you can see that the Bag Release Button, Handle Tilt Latch, and carry handle are blue, just like when Rainbow made the latches for the Water Basin grey.

Retro?

If they were going for a retro look, they succeeded. I had bathroom wallpaper in a rental apartment in the 70's that looked like the bag. Really? Sad...very sad that's all they could come up with for a model change.

I think it's kind of ugly actually... maybe it will grow on me. At least they moved away from the safe but bland gray... but why did the even bother if that was all they were going to do?

At least I could have a "new kirby" if I just got a new bag for my Sentria!

Oh, joy!!! Yet another shade of grey. That some original thinking Kirby. How many more shade of grey do you think they can come up with? And that bag... gag. So much for 'major changes coming'. Maybe it's a good think I can't afford one, it would be nothing more than a slightly changed Sentria.
However, over a year ago I told a member of this forum that Kirby should just change the trim color, find another patter for the bag and call the machine Sentria II, so I must be smarter than I look.
Justin
ps. Did I mention I don't like the bag and grey trim?

Dan,
Just because I don't like think Kirby spent much time choosing trim color and bag patterns does not mean that I am not a Kirby Lover. I love Kirby far more than any other brand on the market or off. I just think that the 'suits' at Kirby could have done better... Red or Blue, even Green would be better than yet another shade of Grey.

I love the new Kirby!

I've had the Sentria II in my stock room for about a week and a half or two weeks and of course couldn't say anything because our sales teams had to sell our Sentria I stock first. I really like it though, great colors and much more visually appealing.

PS- Adam, the only thing that is gray on the machine is the cord, the rest of the trim is brown.

Ohh I say..

That looks lovely, really like the colours in that bag, kinda like a mix of retro with modern lol.
I think it is a re live of a legend 2, how they were developing the G3 at the time.
Let's hope kirby ate cooking up something special for 2014!
I can see people are disapointed, but what you moaning for? At least they brought out a new model!
Also, I hate the new emptor, it is horrible, old one, please! :(

Oh...

Oh they changed the machine why it's still 2012. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person once it's out over here:o) It will also be nice to see more pictures of it:o)
I wonder who really leaked the pictures;o)
