The Lupe Cordless

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

I will say I appreciate the commitment to repair and re-usability, especially the note about offering updated batteries as technology improves.  But, I am really not a cordless fan.  Avery advance in efficient motors can be translated to corded vacuums and be even better.

I watched the video

This vacuum is supposedly a revolutionary cordless machine, and the filtration system isn't even dual-cyclonic. That means LOTS of mandatory filter maintenance, just like the old days. Also the hose placement on the cleaner head easily doubles its height needlessly, meaning it can't get under low furniture that it otherwise should. Main carpet brushbar looks wimpy as well, and tiny in diameter (extra hair wrap).

They said in their video they used to work for Dyson, so maybe they can't throw a decent filtration system in it, out of fear, or contractual obligation.

Thank you for correcting the video Nicholas.

Henrydreyfuss I think you are being hyper-critical. To me it's looks an excellent design and I hope it kicks
Dysons ass! :)

I absolutely welcome new products.. we need them

Just from repairing vacuums, I can't help but point out the obvious. If they're saying they've designed the best cordless vacuum ever, and backing it up with quality promotion, the product itself should be welcome to critique.

I like the idea of the product being easily repairable, with readily available parts. However, this is a Kickstarter, so hopefully that's all eventually possible.

They had no presents at the VDTA. Nor are they selling parts or doing business with any wholesale vacuum supplier right now.
Gives me shark vibes but Looks like a Volwerk knock off .
I contacted them about a sample a while ago they said they would get back to me when they're in production but didn't give any sort of time frame.
I hope it's a good product Lord knows we don't need any more cordless junk.

It's actually very interesting. It is nice that they're trying to make an almost full size cordless vac.

Also when I saw the name I read it loo-pay, like the Spanish girl's name.

@ Madman:

LOL Don't get me started on the name of this vacuum! My housekeeper is from Honduras and I couldn't even imagine getting her to use a vacuum called a "Loo-Pay". Someone could easily create a politically incorrect false narrative around the name of this vacuum.

It doesn't appear that they thought about the possible impact of their name when they were conducting market research, if there was any market research at all. It sort of reminds me of when Chevrolet tried to market the "Nova" in Mexico ("No Va" in Spanish means "no go" i.e. the car won't run). Also, the soft drink named "Fresca", a word which is a Mexican slang term for a lesbian.

@luxlife Yeah, you're right, it would just get turned into an identity politics issue! lol

Personally, I kinda like Lupe (loo-pay) more than Loop. Brings back the days when things were named after people or places (which were usually also named after people). And Loop sounds kinda dumb. What's so loop-y about it, anyway? It's got a big ol' circle on it? Is that it, seriously?

Better than Dyson V10/V11?

Did they actually compared it to the Dyson V10/11?
I think I saw Dyson cleaning head in the comparison.
I can already see Dyson suing Lupe if they show that it is better than Dyson.
Unless it truly is better than Dyson.

Been waiting

I’ve been watching these guys since the first whispers a few years ago. This model looks impressive A bit different to the original model showcased. It would be good to see how it performs in a house like mine. 6 hairy cats and a hairy dog. Most vacuums get clogged with hair in my house and brushrolls get wrapped in hair on a daily basis. Id like to put it through its paces
