My New "American Standard" Habitat Find
Well, this thread seems to have a life of it's own. Far be it from me to keep it alive. lol.
I found this little gem at our local HFH for $20.00. Sonneyndad (Clayton) or anyone else in the know; what have I got here. Is this a Standard Compact or a first generation "Cadet"? I haven't tested it yet but it looks in good condition.
It's looks like it has the original tank (according to Sonneyndad's reply #95) and there's no ridge in the bowl. I'll see if I can get some pictures posted. It's weird; all I can find is May 6-, but no year and some other numbers. Can anyone decifer this code? "R" seem to be a recurring theme. I don't know what it means.
I think after a muratic acid treatment, a new tank to bowl gasket and some new bolts she'll be good as new. Sure don't see those union stickers anymore. I love these old forward trap wash down toilets. Sorry some of the pics are blurry.
