Kirbyvertibles, what else can I use to clean floors with the rainbow, I did use a tablespoon of fabuloso in the spray gun and filled the rest with hot water and spray the floor down. Just to let u know.
My guess; I could be wrong, often am. Will get corrected if
It was built after 1974, as it has a power nozzle plug, I believe 75-76 is when they started factory equipping with outlet; but before 1980 when the D3 was introduced.
If the PN you have was original to the machine, then I would again guess it was a later model as the earlier PN machines used the Eureka Roto-matic PN.
The only thing I can say about cleaners is to use something that does not suds or foam. Maybe since you are spraying it on the floor and then sucking it up try putting some defoamer in the water basin? Works for carpet cleaners.
Just do not pull any vac cord tightly. In reply 4 you can see extra wear this has caused. The worst are Dirt Devil hand vacs when the cord is pulled tight and wrapped around nozzle.I've had many cord replacements on these.
Also do not leave a hose stored 24/7 hanging down as in reply 8.This will strain and crack the hose over time.I've seen many Sears canisters with expensive electric hoses damaged this way.
With Rainbow NEVER store motor unit on water pan.
With any NEVER loan it or even let a so called professional cleaning person use it unless they prove they know proper use and care.
Hoping your classic Rainbow has many more years of wetting dust that can't fly,
Jimmy
