In case anyone's interested in Minneapolis area (Forest Lake, MN, so close to an hour north of Mpls/St. Paul): Someone just posted an Electrolux on Mpls craiglist Aug 14 in the evening. I can't tell model number from picture on craigslist but I'll bet someone here can.

Electrolux vacuum cleaner, attachments, Sidekick, bags

Beater bar has a short in it. If you can fix it, you would have a nice vacuum. It also has a blower.

That's a Model 1521, which was made in different stylings with different power nozzles from the Diamond Jubilee in 1984 to the Ultralux Classic in 1993.

The one in the listing is a Grand Marquise going by the power nozzle label (model PN6A). The next was called the Legacy, which looked almost the same but had textured end trims and an updated power nozzle cover (model 1622). For some reason, Electrolux Corporation at the time only used the model name in literature and packaging without labeling the cleaners until later versions. Btw, the model number and other data is stamped into the plastic panel on the inside of the bag door on most Electrolux & Aerus Lux tanks except for the TOL Renaissance/Epic 8000/Guardian, etc., which are tagged with it on the bottoms. The serial number, composed of a 2-letter series and 5-digit production number, is on the stabilizer.
