Hi all! So I've had a pretty good morning down at my local carboot. I didn't find a DC03 :( but oh well, at least I tried!

I found this DC07 Origin Cyclone and bin unit for £10 and in very good condition!

I expected the bin to be bit 'clouded' over but not dusty at all.

So now my project is to build my own Dyson DC07 Origin from spare parts. The next thing to get is a DC07 Origin body with a motor inside of it. I also need a hose, cable, airflow ducts, filters etc.

What do you guys think? :)

I bought a dc07 cyclone for £1! Buttoday there was a dc07 origin for £20 and a dc
04i in blue

I was given a DC07 Origin that's got a broken bin lid so it wont stay on, but the motor part runs fine.

£10 for the Cyclone & Bin! My car boot has a stall where a man sells them fully cleaned for £4.

What I need now to complete the restoration is the vacuum body + Motor, the brushbar, soulplate, hose and wand etc. But I really need the body and the motor complete with wheels and all to complete the restoration, and ebay hasn't got much options! :(

Yes I would like to build a DC07. And yes, price does matter, so budgeting will be important.

Also, beko1987, would this chassis include the following:

- The spine
- Holding screws for the motor cover
- and also in good condition? (I don't mind the colour)

From 07 chassis

From 07 chassis

From 07 chassis

From 07 chassis

That's the whole shebang minus motor, clutch and brushroll (used elsewhere)

Will cost about a tenner (maybe less, would need to box it up to get an accurate quote), and I'd like a tenner for the lot too.

I echo comments above, you can get a whole machine for about £30 in good condition, just in need of a refurb. Have you checked your local preloved/gumtree/freead/ebays orted to nearest first? All excellent websites

Let me know if you want it and I'll get it packaged and quoted. Not sure wehter to just wrap it in bubblewrap and put the label on that or find a box for it!

You need to be careful with the DC07 Animal spine, the purple ABS plastic on this model is VERY fragile and brittle! I have bought a few old vacs with this type of spine and every one of them had damaged lugs that held the hose and handle to the spine. There should be 4 lugs at the top of the spine on the rear of it, and these lugs are what stops the handle from dropping off backwards away from the spine. I would check that that spine has all 4 lugs intact, or its not really any use as the stress of use on the remaining lugs will snap them off as well in short time.

In short, the purple Animal version is not really a good choice, especially if its been badly faded and exposed to sunlight which makes the ABS even more brittle. Be warned!

Here are 2 spines which both have broken lugs:
