Just got home from North Carolina...
Last Tuesday, my girlfriend and I went to Jimmy Martin's vac shop in Elizabethton, TN. It was definitely a once in a lifetime kind of experience. I have never seen so many rare and odd ball vacs for sale all in one place, let alone for sale! Jimmy was fair with his prices and he also has a great deal of knowledge on the machines. I hope that I will get to go back this year to help him get rid of some more machines. I am pretty impressed with the quantity still there. Lots of rare and oddball machines. I know it will take a lot of time to get everything cleaned out, but there are quite a few treasures in there, and I didn't even see it all! He also has a storage locker full of commercial machines as well. I will bring a much larger vehicle next time! :-D Thanks Jimmy for having us! Also, a Thank You to my girlfriend for supporting my vacuum collecting and helping out that day.

P.S- The pictures didn't come out great for some reason :-(

At last I spotted a "Wheelbarrow" Kenmore canister vacuum like what my Stepmom had-It was a GREAT machine-was still able to run when it died in the Rapid City South Dakota flood of '72.Hers was pink in color.Sort of miss that machine. The Kenmore vacuum in the picture with the upright handle adn the attachments store in area behind the canister. The wands stood in there, too.

Congratulations on your finds!!!

I want to go so bad, maybe Shaylee and I will stop by on our way to visit my brother in Virginia this Fall if we make arrangements to do so.
She would have just as much fun digging as I would lol

Vintage Vacs!

Tyler,
Great to have you and your girlfriend come over.If you don't trade for a bigger car we might watch Grapes of Wrath for ideas of how to tie on roof and hang vacs from bumper.
gsheen,
My only B-D shop vac should show up on EBay tonight. It was the 'baby' of the storage unit with comm/industrial vacs.Others include Spencer,Invincible,Clarke, etc. They or the storage payment NEED TO GO!!any ideas??(I also have 1 B-D central vac with the slanted top but may have a local collector interested.)
to all others,
What you see on the sidewalk is NOT even the'tip of the iceberg'!And with most of these I still have another same or similar model.Due to more problems than I will list we were only able to see 1/3 of the upstairs and no time for much that is downstairs.Any interested may want to do as Tyler did!!Or LATER ask yourself'I wonder if he had--???And guess what-I probably DO and most NEED TO GO!!,
