Joe, I quite agree.... the Guardian/Renny looked better and had many more features than their current offerings.
To finalize the saga, my attachments came today. Of course I waited all day for the UPS guy to come and right when I said "screw this" and decided not to put my day on hold any longer, I jumped in the shower and there he was. Thank goodness I had only gotten one leg in... this guy gave three gentle taps on the door and had already put the sticker on and was heading back to the truck to bring my attachments to the apartment office (which was closed by 6, when he finally got there)... I threw on the nearest things I could find (inside out and backwards, mind you) and chased him down, I was ready to jump him and wrestle him to the ground for my silly attachments. He told me to throw the door sticker away.... what else was I going to do with it? I mean really! The guy who brought my replacement cell phone last week beat on the door for 3 minutes LOUDLY.... he did not want to go all the way to office period! That was at 1, and again I was in the shower... they must have a hidden camera somewhere, they know when you are busy and only come then! I started to go about my day on purpose, because I knew that would "make" him come... it did! Magic!
So, since my dusting brush, sidekick, and bare floor tool are from a Guardian (from the Ebay auction), the upholstery tool is original to the machine, and the crevice tool is from Aerus, they are ALL different colors, and don't match. But, I have them now, so I'm happy. I was a bit surprised at the sidekick.... it was loud and rattled and slowed considerably when I touched it to the couch and ottoman.... it did a fine job on the cat hair, but is all that racket necessary? It bogged down worse than my turbo tools and this thing is electric! The Powermate Juniors that came with the Progressive canisters when I sold vacs at Sears didn't behave in such a manner, and considering the price difference between Kenmore/Panasonic and Electrolux, I'm really surprised.... almost disappointed. I watched a Youtube video that had a sidekick to try to see if my sounded similar, and it did, so I don't think there's a problem. I think that is just how they are. The flip tool had an issue too.... on the carpet side, one of the metal retaining tabs (the thing the screw goes in) stuck out much further than the one on the other side and wasn't flush.... it looked bad and made the nozzle sit crooked, so I had to beat it back into shape with a hammer... still not perfect, but it's tolerable. I used the bare floor tool in the kitchen, and I really like this new one compared to the one for the Diamond Jubilee because of the cut outs in the brushes so snow plowing is greatly reduced. I also dusted the top of the 'fridge with the dusting brush and it worked well. Glad to finally have all the attachments now so I can use them, though I will probably leave neutral or no feedback for the seller, there was a lot of dirt/fluff on the dusting brush and bare floor tool, and they didn't mention that in the auction.... they also didn't mention the floor tool had a bowed out metal piece!
