Rick....are you SURE that's a Royal copy? Something tells me this might be a refurb instead that was done in Taiwan. The last 2 photos in the listing hold the clue. The warning sticker beside the maker's plate looks nearly identical to stickers used on Royal products. Also, it's just too close to be a copy, this one is so close it's literally identical....right down to the brushroll!

Genvac Industries

I know they filed for a business license in the US in January of 1981 and that they are no longer in operation under that name. They are now branded "Gen-Vac". They are now a parts supplier for many different vacuum brands, including my favorite Kirby. Looks like they used to refurbish old vacuums and relabel them? No wonder they didn't last long as a "manufacturer".

OK, Genvac was originally Genoa Industries Corp, also known as GIC, I have personally known the Genoa family for almost 40 years. They were a vacuum parts supplier, now they are a vacuum cleaner manufacture company, they are now Perfect Industries also Nationwide Suppliers, they make the Perfect Vacuum, the machine that looks like an old Electrolux Silverado, they also are the manufactures of the replacement Elecrolux electric hose that looks like the original. They are located here on Long Island in Farmingdale and have manufacturing plants over in China. I had one of the Genvac Royal hand vacuums for many years, it worked great. I hope this helps.
