Frankly,if a company has a website and dosen't update it or put useful information on it-they are better off WITHOUT it.The vac place near me is a Simplicity dealer. The Riccar dealer that was near me closed down-the owner died. Some of his machines were donated to me-others I purchased at low price from his widow. So I use the machines in memory of Bill.

That Made in the USA sticker...

Does Tacony stick that (USA) sticker on every machine?

I wouldn't mind it on the box but not on my beautiful $1500.00 shiny new machine.

Does it peal off with ease or does it leave an ugly glue/white mess behind.

George

The sticker should peel off easily. When I say my dealer has the best deals I mean it lol my example is he ordered me my rattle snake color synergy premium and charges $750 it when everywhere else wants between 850-1,500. It might be well worth it considering he doesn't jack up the prices like everyone else. He charges 399 for the freedom 3,700 where other stoes charge 500, and throws in a box of genuine bags with every purchase.

To ctvacman: If you think those prices are good, you should come to the Vacuum Collector's Convention, in St. James, in June (second weekend). The prices at the factory outlet store would amaze you.

Tom

I wish I could lol. For the area that's the best prices I've seen. When you say outlet does that mean discontinued or factory rejects? Do you know of any dealer that would ship? Also what should I expect to pay for a new 7850 from my dealer. Sorry for all the questions

Tom is telling the truth!!!

When I visited the factory in July, 2012, my grandmother and I both walked away with middle of the line Riccar Supralites at VERY low prices. Tacony makes great, quality vacuums. They were brand new in box directly from the factory!!!

Simplicity Moxie Canister

I recently purchased my simplicity moxie canister off Craigslist. It is like brand new. Barely used. I did purchase the extra tools for it. I absolutely love this vacuum. One of the best if not the best I ever owned. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

@starryblues4u (Wayne)

That looks awesome. Congratulations!
I would also have to get the electric mini brush (I assume you had to purchase the extension wand for the mini power brush, not shown).

How long is the hose and is it more "rubbery" than "springy" (when I say springy, I'm talking about the type of material used for Miele hoses that wont get out of it's own way)?

How is the noise level?

Any other things you like and even more importantly don't like.

Hey George

This is truly an amazing vacuum cleaner. I have not yet purchased the adapter. To be honest, I haven't even used the mini power nozzle. My work schedule has been absolutely nuts and wednesday we got snowed in at work. I am definitely going to use it this weekend.

The hose on the Moxie is the total opposite of the Miele. I have a Delphi and it is a great canister but the Moxie trumps it. My bf loves the Miele and that is the one he uses. It is so easy to manipulate the hose on the Moxie. The hose and cord are also longer which I like.

Now for the noise level..... WOW is this thing ever quiet. Even on full power I think it is quieter than the Miele. I could definitely use this one when people are sleeping. Even the power nozzle is fairly quiet. I will post the short video I took to my youtube about and then will post the link here for you.

One major love for me is the way it grooms the carpeting. We live in an apartment and have the cheaper beige carpet. Some vacuums groom it and some do not do so hot. I love how this grooms. Depending which way you vacuum, you get better results.

One thing I thought was odd is the shape of the brush that is in the attachment part. Sorry I did not take a pic of them but I could if you would like. It is long and skinny. The brush slides off so you can use it on upholstery too. At first I was like well this is stupid, but it is actually a very useful tool. I actually use it EVERYTIME I vacuum. I also love having the horse hair brush close at hand. That is used everytime as well.

It does have a mini barefloor tool in the attachment part which is nice. I have used that on mats that I do not want to use the power nozzle on. The front brush of it pivots back and forth to help agitate I guess you could say.

Another nice feature is that the wand sits upright when not in use. Where as the Miele will fall right over.

There are 3 things I do not like but they are so minor that it would not stop me from purchasing this vacuum again. One is sometimes the cord winder is hard to push, another is the wand is hard to adust sometimes and another is releasing the nozzle takes me a few times. I think these are A) Mostly user error and B) the vacuum is not even a year old so it is still very new. Once I get more acquainted with the vacuum, I am sure these will no longer be an issue.

I am in the process of getting the video uploaded for you. Once it is, I will let you know.

Cool Video...

Thanks so much for the video Wayne.

I watched it and some your other videos on Youtube and it sounds quieter than most your other machines.
The power head doesn't have that whinny type of sound, it sounds more like a growl.

What was that white thing on the floor (looked like pop corn), that the power head pushed away. It mush have been plastic by the sound of it in the power head (and yes I heard the suction power).

Oh, and thanks for the great write up you took the time to post.

Looks like it's a good addition to your collection and since your BF likes the Miele more he won't be bothering you to use the Simplicity.

The model 7850 is retired and no longer in production. There are none left in the warehouse. The current replacement for it is the Simplicity Symmetry Ultra Premium, which uses the same dual fan, dual ball bearing DuraTec motor. It's quieter than the 7850, has a much better hose and wand set up, has a much better bag system, a Lifetime Belt, and yet costs no more than a 7850. Here's a pic showing the 7850 (the last new one left at the outlet store) and the Brand New for 2014 Ultra Premium model. The Ultra Premium is also available, in gorgeous candy apple red, as a Riccar Ultra Premium.

Thanks Tom

My dealer has a 7850 coming from his supplier, I love the vintage of the machine. I will look into the new one as well, it looks like another quality tacony product I can add to my collection. I think I will get the sand edition rsl5 I miss my old rsl5.

ctvacman

The RSL5 (sand or otherwise) is no longer in production. The new SupraLite (Riccar) or Freedom (Simplicity) replacement model for the RSL5 is the Riccar R10PSD ("P" for Premium and "SD" for Sand). For the Simplicity version, it would be S10PSD. The new design features a handle release PEDAL, roller skate ball bearing rear wheels, fully opening dust bag compartment, improved motor and new fan design, as well as the new self sealing Hepa bag.

Tom

Thanks for the info, I've just seen it in pics from the VDTA and wasn't aware they re did the model numbers. Is there any way to purchase from you?
