I was just given an Electrolux model Z73 and I had to share it :) . This is the only one I've ever seen of this model. Does anyone have a picture that shows what other parts came with this machine or perhaps some of the other European commercial units. I have a model Z33 as well (I'll put its pic up tonight)

Doug

PS I think it was put out during the late 50's or early 60's but havnt got an actual date for it either.

Wow

Hello, it's lovely! Think that this vacuum cleaner, with slight design modifications and in white/light blue color scheme has been sold here in Italy up to 1992-93. I'll scan some paperwork to share.
Great find!tommy

Hi Tommy:

I think the model after this one was blue and white (Z74). There is also a model Z75 but I have no idea what it was like. Would love to see the paperwork you have about them.

Hey Guy:

It comes with a permanent cloth bag and disposable paper bags that go inside the cloth one (much like the compacts). Only difference is the plastic ring that holds the paper bags in place isnt part of the bag. Its removable and stays with the vac.

As promiced:

Here is the picture of the model Z33 commercial cleaner - also from Sweden. I havnt found any pictures that show all the parts yet for it so this all I've found.

Z74 in blue

Hi Doug great find. It was sold in the end of the sixties deep into the seventies. With your model the brown one, You could take of the electric cord. With the blue one this was a regular cord conected to the machine. It was not verry succesfull because of its weight and its price. I had a blue one and it came with the normal atachments all the luxes came over here in the same color as the machine.

I finally got around to scanning this page - its the only information I have about the Z33. At least it lists all the parts - unfortunately it doesnt show them. The brochure appears to be dated 1952

I found a z74

Dear friends, six years after the original post I found an Electrolux z74. It is going to be shipped from France, so I'll post detailed pictures when i receive it! Tommy

Congrats on the Z75. I'll be curious to know how you think it compares with the tanks of its era. The Model CBs in the states were only superior in their larger capacity--not their performance. Initially, the motors were the same as the tanks--the economy version at that (Model L). Later, they were equipped with the more robust Super J-type motor.

As for the Z73's era of manufacture, Doug (in reference to the post script in your original comment), I'd guess it to be from the late '70s to the early '80s. The longtime power nozzle logo that it sports was first used in 1962, but one would think that the model #s would have been in the 30s or 40s at that time.
