Here's some pictures of my newest little guy I got today! Sammy took me to an antique store we've never been to this afternoon. Of course I found this model 11 and in the car he goes!!! He works, needs to be cleaned and re-greased, nothing complicated. Hopefully will have time to work on him soon! He needs to get in that kitchen and make some cake ASAP!!! Ha Ha!!! -Michelle

BTW, he doesn't have a name yet! I paired him with my chrome 11 named Smiley. Smiley is already taken. What should I name him?!?!?!?!?

Ha! I decided on naming him "Happy"! I wanted it to fit in since he is a smiley face Sunbeam! That name fits in with smiling! Yea Happy!!! -Michelle

Gotta love those classic old Sunbeam mixers-one of my favorite kitchen machines along with my Vita-Mix and Blendtec blenders.The sunbeams gets lots of use fixing breakfast batters for pancakes,waffles,French toast.The blenders are used to fix my breakfast shakes and smoothies.

Thanks!!! He will bring me much joy soon! He runs hotter than I like, needs to be cleaned and motor rebuilt, new grease, etc. Where there's heat, there's resistance! I just thought I would make him pretty at least for now! I love the Mothers metal polish!!! Also, love Wizard polishes! I go from a coarser compound, to a machine glaze, to a shine sealant. What's cool about the Wizard products is that they smell good!!!! They don't smell like butt, like all the other compounds!!! Ha ha! It smells fruity!!! Kind of like those hard candies that are shaped like fruit. Like there's a banana, an orange, a strawberry, etc. If you smelt that candy, that's what the Wizard smells like! I do enjoy a good old fashioned Sunbeam! -Michelle

Thought of you the other day when I was at Goodwill. I saw a Sunbeam Mixmaster Junior still in the original box for $4.99.

Luxy1205-probably the heat is coming from dried grease in the machines gearbox.Clean the old grease out-replace it and the machine should run comfy-cool!Will have to look for the Wizard cleaners.Sounds like they are pleasant to use.Don't like stinky cleaners,either.I have two Sunbeams I found at a yard sale-then got others from the Late Kelly on the Appliance site.The Sunbeams so remind me of my Moms,Stepmoms,and grandmothers Sunbeams.All of the ones I have work fine-I don't like to dealve into things that work!I only fix them if they need it.Kelly did a great job of rebuilding the ones I got from him.He was a neat and nice guy.Miss him.Talked to him on the phone several times.

You will like the Wizard products! The Wizards work great on plastics and painted items! That's mainly what I use them on! My husband just said that Wizard is probably priced cheaper than 3M products. -Michelle

Nice. My maternal grandmother had a white model 11. But I never saw her use it. I've never had a model 11 but I had a model 7 once in poor condition. Really a mess but it did have both of the jadite bowls which I kept and still have. I have two Model 12s, one chrome and one turquoise. Love them both but I have to say, when I got a beautiful red Kitchen-Aid a few years ago my Sunbeams have languished on the kitchen shelf untouched. I love the Sunbeams but the Kitchen-Aid blows them out of the water!

Cool! I have 19 stand mixers as of right now. I have 3 Sunbeam model 10's, 2 Sunbeam model 12's, 2 Sunbeam model 11's, 2 Sunbeam model 9's (early and late versions), 2 Sunbeam model 3's, 1 Sunbeam model 7, 1 Sunbeam model 5, 1 Sunbeam model 1-7A (harvest gold), 1 Sunbeam model MMA (avocado), 1 Sunbeam model 2360 (the newest from 1990, just bought it really for it's bowls), 1 General Electric Hotpoint from 1935, 1 General Electric D4M44, and 1 Dormeyer Mixwell. I also collect vintage electric hand mixers! I have 13 various models from Sunbeam, to General Electric, to Toastmaster, to Wizard, and so on! I love the Sunbeams they work well for my needs! I've used my Aunt's Kitchen aid in the past and it worked very well! I'm more fond of anything old, just makes me feel happy! What is the chrome model you got there?!? He looks similar to my avocado and harvest gold ones! At least the same era anyways! Thanks for sharing! I would love to see pictures of your other mixers!!! -Michelle

Sunbeam&KA-Depends on what you are using the mixer for---If I am making batters--the Sunbeams are MUCH better than KA.If you are preparing bread or cookie dough-then the KA is better.So I like to have BOTH.

There is a Sunbeam Mixmaster 3A at the Goodwill on Harlem and 22nd in Berwyn for $4.99. It has the chrome bands running down the front and the small arrow pointer for the speed dial. There is no base for it and I didn't see any beaters for it as well.

Here's a little gem I picked up at the flea market for $20, love my KitchenAid 3C.

If anyone is interested there is a Filter Queen Majestic at the Goodwill on 31st and Wolf road in Westchester for $49.99 with all the attachments and the Power nozzle.

You had me interested in the Sunbeam 3A, but without the beaters and base, it would be hard to find them! The model 3 and 5 I believe use the same beaters, but the base is just specific to the 3 unless your in Canada, they used the model 3 base up until the 7 or 9 I believe. Love your Kitchen aid!!! I would love to own a 3B, if I found the right deal, I would own a 3C. How does it work for you??? I've never used an old Kitchen aid before, just kind of curious. I've read that the Kitchen aid 3B only came with the whisk attachment and nothing else would fit it, unlike the newer Kitchen aids. Does your 3C use different attachments or is it set up like the 3B? Thanks for the name requests, I ended up naming him "Happy" because he just looked happy now! Ha ha! -Michelle

The 3A, 3B, and 3C all only came with the all purpose beater. The dough hook wasn't even offered, in fact they didn't even offer the dough hook on the 4C and tell you not to use the hook with anything before the K4B.

Thanks for the info!!! Very cool literature you got there! That's a cool Sunbeam you used to have! The oldest Sunbeam I have is the model 3. Which I have a 3A made in 1936 and a 3B made in 1937. I have every model Sunbeam from 3 up to 12, then I have 2 plastic bodied ones from the late 1960's-1970's, and a 1990 2360 (just bought it mainly for it's glasbake bowls), I think I paid $22 for the mixer and the bowls! The 2 bowls themselves are worth more than that on EBay! I just got to get him some beaters! I'm going to have my husband custom paint him because anything newer looking is bland! The 2360 isn't attractive by any means, but a cool paint job should liven him up some! I have to get all 19 of my stand mixers together for a photo! I have pictures on here of them, but I keep getting more, and more, and more!!!! Ha ha! -Michelle

I've been picking up the Glassbake bowls (made exclusive for Sunbeam) for this one guy I know who rebuilds Sunbeams. I find them at Goodwill in both white and clear. Generally I find them for $1 to $2 per bowl.

The Goodwill in Willowbrook on Rte 83 and 63rd had the power drive unit for an older Sunbeam that plugs in where the beaters go and then the attachments hook into that unit.

I know I've seen a couple of the glass tumblers for the drink mixer attachment at Goodwill as well.

That's so cool that you find those bowls for so cheap!!! I'm desperately in the market for the model 9 and back large bowls!!!! Every time I buy a mixer with bowls from EBay the stupid sellers don't know how to pack them and the bowls ALWAYS end up broken!!! So, I've stopped buying them online! I only have 1 large bowl that's for a model 9 and back that all 6 of my older models have to share! Also, always in search of the model 10 to 12 bowls too! If you ever find any please let me know! Especially looking for both jadeite bowls for my model 3! It's the only A model I own! Everything else is a B and has the white milk glass bowls, (I have a chrome 11, but he came with both clear bowls) . I included 2 pictures of my model 3A. She came with the jadeite juicer and a large jadeite bowl, but it's not for her! We were in the process of fixing her that's why she's apart. She doesn't work yet, needs to be taken completely apart, don't have the time yet, so she just sits pretty awaiting her turn! BTW, I just looked for that model 3B and saw it! Very cool! Wish it had the beaters!!! Oh well, I have enough to make cake with I think! Ha Ha! -Michelle

I saw a couple of the bowls at Goodwill today and noticed that it says Fire King made for Sunbeam. I thought it was Glassbake. Unless they both made for Sunbeam.

Oh, and I stand corrected ... the old Sunbeam I had was a Model 1, not Model 6 as I had stated. It was just like the one in the linked eBay listing except that it had Jadite mixing bowls and also a Jadite orange juicer. Unfortunately the juicer got broken.

I'm a fan of Mixmasters. I've got four of them. I never intended to get so many; it just sort of happened. I bought a nice chrome one from the '70s on eBay a couple of years ago and the idiot seller packed it up with the mixer attached to the stand. The stand and the turntable were broken in shipping. He refunded my money and told me to dispose of the mixer as I saw fit. I kept it and replaced the broken stand and turntable with white ones for less than I had initially paid for the mixer itself.

Later on, I found a Mixmaster Vista with a built-in work light, chrome with a brown stand, complete except for the bowls, at a thrift store for $5.50. I couldn't pass that up; in fact, I rationalized it to my girlfriend by saying I could sell the mixer I already and keep the bowls for more than I was paying for that one. But a couple of days later, she came in from our church's annual rummage sale, saying she'd found me some bowls. What she'd actually found was another mixer, a white plastic Mixmaster from about 1989 according to the copyright date on the manual, complete with everything but the original box. It's not nearly as well made as the other two. It has a beater release button where the power takeoff should be, and thus no way to attach any accessories. I suggested just keeping the bowls to use with the Vista and selling the rest on eBay, but she wouldn't hear of it. Oddly enough, she wouldn't take it home with her, either.

I eventually found an all-chrome Mixmaster, slightly older than that white plastic one. While it first glance it looks just like the other the two chrome ones I have, it too has a beater release button in place of the power takeoff. But that doesn't matter since I really bought it for its base, so now my first Mixmaster is all chrome, just like it's supposed to be. One of these days, I'll get rid of the two newer mixers that I don't need. But right now, all four of them are taking up precious cabinet space. Truth be told, I could actually be quite content putting the Vista on the chrome stand and selling off everything else.
