All Dysons die in the end, and have to be recycled into more Dysons, otherwise we'd be totally overrun with knackered Dysons.

I contacted the Original owner of the Dyson, and he says the cable had a faulty connection. He did think the motor burnt out, however I told him about the common issue of the DC01, Cable connections

America's best (if not THE best) bagless cleaner they there has ever been! That was such a quality machine!

Fantom Thunder was a very good carpet cleaning vacuum, BUT, once James Dyson invented MEMA filters, he brought them to Fantom since they were allowed to use his patents. Fantom paid Mr. Dyson a licensing fee to use his patents. Fantom was so greedy they did not want to use washable filters (since they were in the BUSINESS of selling HEPA filters). James did not renew his agreement with Fantom, and out of business they went. Plain greed. Pure and simple. Fantom built their machines without pre-motor filters so the dust would go directly to the HEPA filter, which cost $75.

Even if the filters were $75! MAX Efficency, max airflow, correct? I wonder how much MEMA filters sold for, hmm?

The point of the MEMA filter system was to not require replacement for a long time (we are talking years).
