'Knackered Dysons'

I thought we already WERE overrun with knackered Dysons.... I know I was.... I managed to get rid of a couple last year, which I had been persuaded to give a temporary home to. ;-)

All best

I contacted the Original owner of the Dyson, and he says the cable had a faulty connection. He did think the motor burnt out, however I told him about the common issue of the DC01, Cable connections

In all my searching for the perfect for me vacuum... I read this and I laughed... "In the industry we call it a 'Die Soon" hehehehe

Fantom Thunder was a very good carpet cleaning vacuum, BUT, once James Dyson invented MEMA filters, he brought them to Fantom since they were allowed to use his patents. Fantom paid Mr. Dyson a licensing fee to use his patents. Fantom was so greedy they did not want to use washable filters (since they were in the BUSINESS of selling HEPA filters). James did not renew his agreement with Fantom, and out of business they went. Plain greed. Pure and simple. Fantom built their machines without pre-motor filters so the dust would go directly to the HEPA filter, which cost $75.

If you Americans had the Dyson Dual cyclone machines, you would love them, even we like them more than the Dc07 and DC14's!
