I have been wanting a new vacuum cleaner for a very long time. One that i was on the look out for many months before it was even released, and when i used one for the first time i was in LOVE. It is just different from almost anything that i own and i love it. a Kenmore Progressive Glide!

I was out and about with Chase and Davis and we took a stroll through Sears, and i happen to have a 15% off coupon and the Progressive Glide was on sale for $149....heck, why not?! It was fun to buy something new when you had two other people around you to appreciate it, and share your excitement. (I think Chase was more excited than i was, haha ;P)

When we got home i ripped it open and away the thing went. It is AMAZING...i am fairly certain it uses the same motor as the Kenmore canisters, and obviously it has a full size canister brushroll. This thing is an absolute BEAST and a great deep cleaner. It also has a dirt sensor which just kind of sweetens the whole deal.

Overall i am very impressed, it may look like a stick vac but this thing packs as much of a punch as a Kenmore canister.
Enjoy the photos.

Sears well kept secret...

I was shopping in a Des Moines Sears a few months back with Dan Pontow and stumbled across this model and fell in love with it. When Dan came to the mini-meet, he brought me one, thanks Dan! It does have amazing power for a stick-vac and coupled with the full size power nozzle makes it quite a cleaning machine. It reminds me a little of the Hoover some years back that was a version of their Quick-Broom with the Celebrity power nozzle, but this will blow the Hoover away in cleaning. It's now my newest cleaner in my collection, after my Windtunnel purchase last year. A fun vacuum to use and love the eggplant color!

Congratulations, Kyle!

According to Consumer Reports upright tests - this vac is a winner. Since I don't believe it's worthwhile to try and use any upright's tools for above the floor cleaning (better to get a separate canister), this high performing lightweight uproght is a gem - it seems to be in competition with other lightweight uprights like the Oreck or the Riccar Supralight. It only weighs 13 pounds.

Here are the test results from Consumer Reports:

Medium Pile Carpet Cleaning = Very Good (for comparison, the Sebo Automatic X5 only gets a "good")
Bare Floor Cleaning = Excellent (you can turn off the brush roll to prevent scattering of dirt)
Noise Suppression = Good (for comparison, the top rate Hoover Self Propelled WindTunnel is noisier and only got a "fair" in this category)
Emissions Control = Excellent (the Hoover Platinum Bagged is only "very good")
Handling (pushing, pulling, carrying) = very good (the Riccar Brilliance Premium is only "fair")
Removal of Pet Hair = fair (this is the only category in which it really did not do great - most tested uprights did very well in this category - for instance the cheaper Hoover Tempo Widepath is rated Excellent at pet hair removal...)

All in all, a great lightweight vac for carpets and floors - and so sleek and easy to use with no bulky tools hanging on for dear life, and no bulky dirt bins and hoses.

I want one too!!!! May get one for my elderly mom in her new apartment....

Enjoy your new toy!!! :-)
