Here are some of the finds that my friend Rich and I came across today. We found a Hoover hair dryer with power manicure circa 1969...a Hoover Convertible 584 serial number 64,000+ circa 1965...an early 1969 1140 DAM serial number 13,000 with an unusual sticker for the height adjuster...and a well used 1348. Everything worked great. I also got not pictured was a 1968 Lawnboy 5236. It was a great day for thrifting and I had a great time with Rich.

Great finds, Tom! Email me sometime-would like to hear more about the '68 Lawn-Boy. My first one was a '68. Had it for 11 years, would have been longer, but it was stolen out of my garage when I was away for a weekend. It was the '68 version of your '72 19" model.

Hey Tom, awesome finds! Interesting that you mention different height indicators between certain Dial-a-Matics; the one on my 1131 is quite different from that of my 1149. I'll go ahead and post closeups of the two. What does yours look like?

That 1348 might be well-loved, but look on the bright side...at least it came with the rubber bumper! I notice it also has a newer replacement cord.

Perhaps you could post about the '68 Lawn-Boy on the Super forum? I'd be interested to hear about it as well.

The 1968 Lawnboy

I posted pics of the Lawnboy that I found in the off topic forum...just thought someone may be interested!

Great Finds.........

Alot of the 1140 Dial-A-Matics left out there. I have dozens upstairs in the barn.

Congrats on the Thrifting.

Austin...sorry but the 1140 went home with Rich...he sold one on ebay and now he has another one. The font of the lettering was different than the one I have. Being 13,000 it was a very early model. He also took home the Junior...it looked good topside but was as much of a mess as a vac could be on the bottom side...something like caked on drywall. However, this was the best running Junior I have ever seen. It ran like a champ and quiet to boot!

The 584....

Hey Tom

I notice it has a 30 series hood, but a full bumper- was it a hybrid like the 707?-does it have a handle grip?
