Some Tennessee Vacuum Finds

We are on vacation in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and we did some thrifting and flea marketing all day, and I hit the jackpot! There was at the flea market that sold vacuums and had tons of parts and old vacuums, and he was extremely nice. I saw the Decade 800 and asked how much he wanted for it, and he said $1, but then he said I could just have it. It runs great! It has no rips in the cord or bag, and it will clean up very nice. He also gave me the Hoover Guardsman for $5 which runs flawlessly, but has a replacement bag. I was told the cord is original, which has no scuffs or rips in it! I got the blue Hoover and the 1030 at a thrift store for $5 each. I left quite a few other vacuums there to, but they weren't worth anything to me. Both of these just need belts. I was told the blue Convertible, model 4021 I believe, is incredibly rare... I will most likely find some other vacuums while I'm down here as well.

I have a green Hoover just like the one you found. It belonged to my grandmother, which makes me quite happy. It still works as well as it ever did, which, thanks to its bottom-fill bag, is "OK". I did come into the attachments for it at some point later on, and never got around to trying them, since the attachment system seems so gimmicky. (I have my other grandmother's Convertible as well; a later model with a top-fill bag, this machine I use regularly. Its hose fits over the brush roll, and, well, not to put too fine a point on it, the suction is a bit shit.)

There is also a Flea Market out in Sweetwater ( I 40 toward Knoxville). This guy sells nice Kirbys and Tristars. Thought you might want to know about it.
